I've been dx w/Lyme since 2007, started tx for Lyme and babs 2008 and eventually also bart. Have been PICCd since Aug. 09.

6 weeks ago LLMD called and told me to go off all abx because have had several abnormal blood tests. (I get weekly CBC, chemistry, etc.)

LLMD thought it's probly toxicity from the huge amt of abx, but they needed to see a month of normal ones to make sure it's no leukemia or other bone-marrow problem.

Off abx, bloodwork mostly cleared, tho this problem has been showing up off and on since Feb. We started me back on Rocephin and Bicillin ONLY. Now, just one week in, two tests came back abnormal. I have to see hematologist.

I'm scared. When I google the lab results, it keeps finding leukemia and lymphoma sites, but there's so little info. I want to know what I'm dealing with.

And what if the hematologist knows nothing about Lyme?

The main concern is immature granulocytes. I also usually have hi lymphocytes and sometimes monocytes. Often others are low or hi.

We already know I have hypercoagulation: An abnormal Hemex ISAC panel soon after LLMD started treating. But that's typical with CFIDS.

Plus, my PICC always clogs, due to fibrin, and my blood is usually thick, dark, sludgy. I use lumbrokinase, natto, bromelaine, fish oil, wobenzyme, etc., and still, we have to do peripheral draws.

I don't know if any of this is related or not. Did any of you have these types of blood test results? I didn't see anything in the archives.

Thank you!

I don't know much about granulocytes, but I'm interested in the hypercoagulation.
The systemic enzymes that you're taking and the fish oil should be thinning the blood.

Are you taking the enzymes on an empty stomach?
I take Wobenzym when I wake up, as that's the only time I'm sure my stomach is empty.
I'm taking 12 tablets, once daily.

This has reduced the migraines and the aches and pains.
If I take more than this, scratches bleed too much.

Perhaps it's time for you to try Rechts Regulat, from BioPure.

swachsler,

I have also problems with blood and markers showing lymphoma etc.

It probably is realted to lyme, I don't know yet
as I do not have an LLMD.
Just wanted to let you know that this happens in several people.Would not worry too much.
We need to find a hematologist with lyme knowledge.
I had premature red blood vessels six years ago and it just went away.
Please keep me informed if you get more infos.

It was red blood c e l l s not vessels, sorry for the error. They have been tiny because they have been released too early.

Karen, thanks so much for your reply. It's good to know.

I just made an appt with a hematologist, and then I looked him up online. He looks like a child! He graduated from med school in 2000!

I wonder how anyone so young can know about anything, let alone Lyme and distinguishing it from lymphoma, etc.?

I hope I'm wrong. I hope he surprises me (in a good way).

Carol,

Here's a pretty good article on the hypercoagulation thing:

S.,
Thanks, good article.

I did not have the testing done.
I was too sick to try to figure things out, and it seemed simpler to just try the systemic enzymes.
I tried a couple single enzymes before the Wobenzym blend.

The change with Wobenzym was pronounced: within two weeks I no longer woke up every day with a splitting headache.

I suggested looking into Rechts Regulat since the stuff you're taking hasn't reduced the fibrin in your blood, as evidenced by the PICC clogging.

Gigi has posted alot about the benefits of Rechts Regulat.

Wishing you the best,
Carol
