I was reading a post about how Buhner has changed his core protocol. What herbs is he recommending now? Thanks.

- The book is still very valuable with a ton of great detail, so it's not about just listing herbs - the book explains so much.
You might look around the websites.
I don't readily see his comment about how he is putting less emphasis on one supplement - or just is seeing that others may have more benefit. ------------------

"I think andrographis is fine if you do tolerate it.
Over time I have come to feel that knotweed followed by cat's claw are the two best primary herbs followed by eleuthero followed by andrographis then stephania.
(In the last book updates I did not notice that andrographis statement.)
If you tolerate it (that is, no allergic reaction) there is no reason not to be on the herb long term.
If you are feeling better, keep at it. If you experience digestive upset, take them with food, otherwise it doesn't matter.
Yes, andrographis helps break the encysted forms. The red root should be taken as a tincture, not a pill. The most important for the collagen protocol are glucosamine, pregnenolone, biosil."

His recommendations for collagen support include a product with bioavailable silicon such as I linked above, glucosamine, and pregnenolone (I really wonder about that last though, doesn't seem wise to me).

This is the 2nd time someone has told me to take silicon for a slight hernia or connective tissue damage.
Guess maybe I'll give it a shot.
Maybe it'll help with my knees, elbows, etc
There isn't a product with silicon and glucosamine in it?

Not that I know of, the good silicon products are always a liquid solution, and glucosamine is a large amount of powder either encapsulated or in tablet form.

I like the idea of taking the tincture of JarroSil
Buhner works directly with them and recommends them (even more-so than source-naturals)
Only reason Buhner recommends source naturals is because when he wrote his book they were the only company using the whole plant (japanese knotweed)
Now for the exciting news...
They have a Buhner Core Protocol Product (360 capsules for $50) that combines japanese knotweed, Andrographis, cats claw, sarsaparilla(detox/lymph), and dandelion.
The guy on the phone takes it and was telling me a lot of people use it in conjunction with abx's.
Just giving you Buhner-Users a headsup. This sounds much easier to manage/take/find and is much cheaper.

Thanks Keebler and everyone. I bought some Andrographis today to try out. I have been taking 8 cups of green tea, cat's claw and olive leaf. Thought I would add the Andrographis.
I have been afraid of the knotweed because it dilates blood vessels, and I have autonomic dysfunction which causes blood to pool from my head to my feet because of blood vessels dilating inappropriately.
Green Tea is loaded with lots of phytochemicals, reduces inflamation and helps to kill the bacteria that causes gum disease, which I believe is a spirochete.
