I know its a weird question, but since my last LLMD visit left me slightly confused and finding out that I may have another parasite besides having Lyme, made me do some digging.
I have had itchy ears for years, even before the Lyme. I went to an ear, nose and throat doc and she told me I had dry ear. And to use baby oil on a cotton swab and it would go away.
It never completely went away and was wondering if anyone else here had the same thing? If so, please share.

Hmm, wondering if I have a parasite? I have itchy ear INSIDE the ear, but not outside the ear. Sometimes it aches or feels like stabbing pain and sometimes it itches. Sometimes feelsl ike pressure and sometimes pops a lot or feels clogged. Maybe I should focus on parasites first.
Sorry, not much help to your question, but just wondering myself?

YES!!! That's exactly what I have. On the inside and not the outside! And it makes the wax build up more.
And come to think of it (I can't remember which abx it was) when I was first diagnosed with Lyme, one of the abx that I was put on made my ears not itch anymore!
But now its back to itching everyday. And I get the stabbing pain mixed with the itching. I recently just started the popping and feeling clogged.
I am going to start Humaworm and from what I read on here and other sites, it should help to cleanse out some stuff.
LLMD also put me on Black Walnut, and I am adding Wormwood and Cloves.
Anyone else out there have any views?

- Baby oil is best avoided in the ear canal as it is a petroleum product.

I don't do that anymore because it felt weird. Now I just live with it, but thought it was weird that its a sign of parasites.

- Parasites are often overlooked and a good lyme treatment should include addressing parasites.
ANY infection can cause itchy ears - especially yeast. Decreased circulation can cause itchy ears. Nerve damage, too. Liver toxicity . . . there are so many causes. I'd also look at one's shampoo or any other personal grooming products.
Even one's laundry detergent or fabric softeners. Seventh Generation and BioKleen are the best.
Allergies, especially to mold in the environment but also to foods with gluten, dairy, corn or soy - or vinegar.
Scented products and off gassing from carpets, fabrics, dry cleaning, etc. ALL affect our ears.
For anyone with any ear issues, that thread has lots of great links to explore. And for anyone who wants to keep their hearing, good links, too.
Most important is that when on abx and for up to a year later, our ears are MUCH more likely to be damaged by lower levels of sound than normal. Noise damage is HUGE. Even hairdryers need to be approached with ear plugs. -

I would suspect YEAST bigtime. Happens to me.... the itchy ears are one of my signals.

Now that I think about, my ear felt much better after I took one dose of diflucan. Maybe it is yeast related!! Is there something other than diflucan I can take for yeast or some sort of natural cleanse?

Before treatment my left year itched internally really really bad! I would wet a q-tip and rub it raw in there. After 2 months of treatment I don't have the itchy ear anymore. It drove me nuts. I hope yours get better!

I've had itchy ear canals for ages, especially on the left side. For a while it seemed like that ear totally stopped producing wax. I often have flakes of debris that cake up in there. Also, there've been times when there's been a smell to the debris or moisture that's like athlete's foot. I guess that supports the yeast theory.
I've itched it too much in the past and gotten an ear infection. My ears also pop a lot--over and over like a constant airplane pop. Then there are all the vestibular problems.
My self-fix has been jojoba oil dabbed in there lightly with a Q-tip. It has helped me not to scratch while I'm sleeping, which is when I used to do a lot of damage.
I don't feel like abx treatment makes it better. If it's parasites that's kinna scary. Ya know, I also have clicking sounds in there. I googled and read that that was fluid but it always feels like bugs making clicking noises. Ew.

I agree with Lymetoo - YEAST!!
I had this same thing and when I treated the yeast, it went away.
But - I have also heard you can also use olive oil and it may help with dryness, itching, pain, and ringing, buzzing or other noises within the ear.
Use 4 drops in each ear. Flip over and let ears drain.

I agree with lymetoo, yeast overgrowth likely, mixing 1/2 rubbing alcohol with 1/2 white vinegar set aside for future use. Lightly dip q-tip tip in the mixture then apply gingerly to outer portion of the ear canal. Do not try to advance further than the wick of the q-tip though for hopefully obvious reasons.

Me! Itchy ears!
(I don't have lyme).
I have "wet" earwax...yea, genetically there are 2 kinds of earwax.
It took me a long time to find that on the internet.
I am more likely to get ear infections after swimming, etc.
I JUST got a product (Rx) YESTERDAY that is suppposed to help.
It is ear drops (an oil).
It is called Dermotic 0.01% oil. 20 ml.
My doc says he is seeing a LOT more people complaining of itchy ears right now!
I live in Sarasota...we need rain desperately and the pollen...well..."moderate".
P.S. I'm on abx. for a bad sinus infection currently and had a very very bad and painful ear infection (fungal) a few months ago. Had to have ear "wicks" put in my ears which were almost swollen closed (channel). Three visits to a specialist...
The OTC anti-histamines for grass/pollen allergies didn't "cut it". Tried many.
Son has sinus infection now too and he also is on abx.
Screwy weather. First unusual cold that killed many of our plants/trees this past winter and now too dry...lawns are suffering even with irrigation.
