im getting impatient with my insurance company, who is giving my LLMD a hard time with prescriptions and dosage amounts. how can i go about getting some doxycycline for example on my own? and how much does it cost without insurance paying for it?

I don't have trouble getting Doxy through my insurance company; but even if they didn't want to pay for it, I'm pretty sure its very cheap.
Can you just take your prescription of Doxy to the pharmacy and if your insurance doesn't pay, just pay for it yourself? I was thinking it was less than $10.00 per month.

is it cheap? i just always assume all medications cost a fortune. but id have no problem paying for it myself if it wasn't that expensive

Doxy is probably the cheapest! Like I said its around $10.00 average per month. It also depends on how much you are taking.
Call the pharmacy and find out!

I get 100 doxy caps at wmart for $16.50. Taking two tabs twice per day though. Insurance? What's that?

You need a prescription for it, but Doxy is cheap.
Check out your local grocery stores that offer $4 prescriptions. The lists of what medications that are on that plan should be listed on the grocers website.
Doxy is on the $4 plan at several grocers near me.

If you don't have insurance or don't want to use it go to www.pscard.com
generate a card number.
You can talk to someone on the phone or do it online to find the cheapest place to get it.
Awhile back when I had no insurance I got doxy for 40 bucks for a 90 day supply 200mg twice a day.
Also if you can try to get your LLMD to get 90day supplies it is much cheaper.
Those 4 dollar deals at grocery stores are only good for about 7-10 days worth, it would be a pain to try to keep up with the constant scripts and picking up.

I was on Doxy for 4 months and got it in 30 day supply and it was $4 every time.
$10 for a 90 day supply.

MominTexas, That's great! I love Texas btw. NY well we don't get such deals. I would be allowed to get 100mg 1xper day which would mean only peanuts, don't ask me to do the math, it's something like 6 and half days.
