I just took dose #6 which is 1 tsp 2 x per day.

Still on IV Rocephin 2gm per day, Z-max 500mg every other day until next LLMD appt.

It seems since starting the MEPRON, my nervous system is going bonkers.

Anxiety way up, Short of breath all day (not air hunger), Wake up shaking all over the place, Fatigue getting worse w lots of yawning, Aching all across my shoulders and into my neck, Some crying jags but not like I had on Flagyl, still bouncing around sensation in the head.

Not too much in the way of headaches.

Overall, just feels like my nervous system has gone haywire and my body won't relax. It's not Anxiety in the sense I usually get up, just all ramped up.

I'm suppose to add Art into the mix and wondering how I will be able to do this. I have IV Glutathione coming today. Perhaps this will help with detox. Gonna see a detox Dr. in 2 weeks. Hope he can help with this crap.

Thanks for any input,

Gary

All I can say is I'm riding the mepron bomb too. When things get extra rough I just tell myself that it'll pass and eventually it does.

Could you take a xanax just till symptoms lessen down? I'm far from an addict, but my llmd wants me to take klonopin .5 mg. every 6 hours till they figure my meds out. Feel better.

A note of sympathy: I got as anxious as I've ever been in my life on Mepron. Went on xanax and eventually klonopin and tradazone (sp?) My llmd switched from Mepron to another med since my symptoms didn't improve at all.

All the best in figuring this one out.

When I started Mepron the anxiety was just horrible. I had to start very slowly and gradually worked my way up to 5tsp daily. At first I could not even tolerate one!

I would say that if you have babesia you need to be on it. Even Malarone has mepron in it.

I was told it was part of the herx and not a side effect. I was not convinced at first but I will say the anxiety got alot better and my life improved tremendously. Try lowering dose until you adjust and then increase very slowly.

In the meantime, I agree with the others above. Take xanax if you need it for severe episodes to help you through it. I did that at times too.

In the end babesia treatment was the key to me regaining my life back. So try to stick with it.

As far as artemesia goes. I got adjusted to the Mepron before I added artemesia. I couldn't take it all at once. Too much!

Go at this slowly but be persistent in your treatment. It is the only way to get better.

Best,

Katrina

Gary. Our doctor switched me to malarone because I had trouble with the mepron. The nausea was so suffer I was barely eating. I am sure my nausea was also compounded by the zithromax, but I am tolerating malarone much better. I am artmesin too. Maybe ask him if you can switch. I take 1 tablet three times a day.

Mepron is an awful drug but a necessary one. Try and bite the bullet and know that everytime you feel crappy its killing more babs (or bart)

I was on it for 4 hellish months (plus zithro and Art) but when I came out of it I was so much better. See what you can get for the anxiety. There is no need for you to be so uncomfortable. I been at this almost three years now and have learned that the hard way. Ask for the drugs when you need them

Hugs and Prayers
