OK, I'm getting really irritated as everytime I try to walk anywhere I get a ton of pressure in my rib area like something is pushing. It makes me so tired. I start out OK and after ANY exertion, I'm done.

My abdomen gets very rigid, pain in my ribs (not horrid, but dull), and weak.

My balance seems to get worse when this happens too. It's like I hit a threshold and boom...all over.

Is this even possible? Recent liver tests have been fine. No other issues I know of except possible Lyme and positive Babesia WA-1 titer (1:2,048) on the IgG side from LabCorp/Focus.

I just don't know what to do! [Frown] I'm getting mentally beat down. It almost feels like my rib is stuck or something, but how?

Any thoughts? I'm on Malarone (4 pills) for another 3-day stint per my ID doc. It's day #3 today. THis problem has been here before Malarone though.

Spleen, maybe?? Any pain on the left side??

It's actually both at times. It alternates. More on the right than left. I have no fever.

This article written by a famous Lyme doctor mentions the rib issues, but who knows.

Note, you cannot read his name when you see the article as he is not supposed to be mentioned. lol. Cover your eyes.

Gotta cover my eyes when I see it in the link!! [lol]

It does sound like that could be it.. esp since you are taking malarone right now.

I just added his list to the Lyme and Coinfections list here.

A rigid abdomen indicates a buildup of fluid.
Or organ enlargement.

Have you discussed this with your doctor?

what about your adrenals that sit atop the kidneys? Does the pain radiate to the back?

Google: costochondritis . Borrelia is known to attack cartilage, and may give you symptoms leading you to believe you have a heart problem,or maybe sustained a trauma to that area-it can be that bad.Are you on anything for Lyme?-If you are,it should resolve after a time..(Although it can be disabling in the interim.)

Hi, Need to talk to your Dr. about hope he knows about costochondritis. Sound lot like it, which is not whole lot diff. than feel like you broke rib or something like that is very close to & others pains under ribs.
If costro not whole lot can do beyond muscle relax maybe something for pain if is persists. Can be disabling for some.
Let us know what you find out...?
Huggggggssss, to ALL in Need,Kerry
