I've been to the NPA-GMP website and they list surprisingly few brands that meet their tests.

Meanwhile, other brands, such as Swanson, claim to exceed Good Manufacturing Practices, but they seem to be self-evaluated.

There's a website called ConsumerLabs.com but they charge fees to check the brands they test.

Does anyone know where to check to see if a supplement is free of contaminants?

Dear cottonbrain,
I certainly understand your predicament. We all are concerned about this. My chiropractor prescribes Standard Process herbs and supplements. They also clean lines between batches to prevent cross-contamination with gluten and other allergens.
Kirkman has also been recommended to me by friends.

Sincerely,
Jin

I am also interested in this. There are so many brands and some people like this one or that one, but it is hard to tell which ones are ok to use.

Money is definitely an issue with me right now, but my lyme brain has a hard time drudging through all the information. I don't know how you all do it.

jin - good advice. I have used (and prescribed) Standard Process for years.

Lots of howling here though that you have to get them through docs. I have recommended a great book a good number of times here also - "The Real Truth About Vitamins and Antioxidants" by Judith DeCava. Your chiro may have it and loan it to you.
