I've been on a break for a while but started taking Septra DS on Monday (only 1/2 tab twice daily to start working up to two/day). I'm Soooo achey today like i have the flu and feel anxious w/bad back ache.
I have a large lymph node under my arm that causes pain, numbness, coldness all the way down at times.
They said node is a reactive one and not to worry. Hopefully they are right and this will help.
I just hope what I'm feeling is normal for this med.

In the setting of tick borne disease enlarged lymph nodes make me think of Bartonella first though not exclusively. Bactrim treats Bartonella though by itself it may not cure it in most cases. So I think that if you are getting a response that quickly it may be from Bartonella cell death. Would try increasing detox with vitamin C no less than 1 gm /day, Dr B now recommends 1-4 gms/day I think. Extra vitamin C helps by reducing the nitrosylation by product of our body's metabolism of the sulfa that is in the Bactrim or Septra DS. Bartonella tends to clog lymph channels so some type of exercise eg feet up in air, bouncing or gentle, linear fingertip massage from fingers or toes upward may help quite a bit. Pain and numbness may be from one and the same source and epsom salt bathing and oral magnesium (glycinate is recommended by Dr B) can help quite a bit.
