Dr. B said you have to get to at least 120 before you are clear of getting a relapse

I have just gotten the book "The Lyme Disease Solution," and according to it, a low CD57 count means "the immune system is not strong enough to handle Lyme without the helps of antibiotics."

THis means the lyme has killed off a good percentage of natural killer cells in your immune system. (thus your immune system is weak.)

Many LLMD's believe the CD-57 is a good indicator as to the level of lyme you have in your body. Lyme attacks the natural killer cells.

It should go up with treatment. >200 is "normal"

You want to be at least >120 before stopping treatment otherwise a relapse is likely.

Most "bad" lyme (chronic) is <60. I'm 87 BTW.

Sophie-I think I read somewhere that co-s make it higher. Someone else chime in who knows more please!

My CD 57 was a 42 after treating for 3 months and take cat's claw. Which according to Buhner raises your CD57 levels. I take it as more proof that Lyme is the cause of all this horrible crap happening to my body.

It is highly controversial as to what it means. Do some searches here.

Well, I don't know WHAT to make of my CD-57. I had it done 2-3 weeks ago.

LabCorp's ref. range is: 60 - 360.

Mine came back as 63. What am I supposed to make of that? I'm 3 steps over the fence???

This is crazy stuff and I'm sick of it!

It means you are low..because of lyme.

If you have a high #,and feel like crap then it is likely due to Co-infections or other.

I hear you Gatorade Girl, my CD-57 is 18 :-(

What have others done to help improve this number?

Above mentioned Cat's Claw. I think I read that LDN, acupuncture may help. Has anyone tried these. My dd is taking LDN, so I could borrow from her!

Any other suggestions

I put a lot of stock into the CD57 until a LLMD told me bartonella can make it higher for some reason - so if you have bart, don't use it as an indication that the lyme is under control.
