I have Chronic Lyme and Bartonella and my bladder is very over-active and my urine doesn't always pass, and doesn't pass completely. I've been going to a Urologist for more than a year and I've had a Cystoscopy and a Urodynamic Study. During the Cystoscopy, my doctor found that my urethra is very narrow, so she had to dialate it and in the Urodynamic Study, it was determined that my Involuntary Sphincter muscle doesn't relax, and my doctor believes that this is the reason why my urine is unable to pass. I've tried medicine after medicine to try to help me and the only one that worked for me was Hytrin, which is a medicine that aids urination, but I had to stop taking it because it caused my blood pressure to be very low. I'm suffering so much from my urination troubles and I was wondering if any of you have found relief of these symptoms or have any suggestions for me.

Hi MG,

I had bladder problems in the beginning but thankfully it has cleared up with lyme and Bart treatment. Levaquin was the major player in clearing this symptom.

I remember when I first started with my ILADS LLMD I was in pretty bad shape, When intitiating levaquin for bart I was up 4 times a night to pee and run my feet under cold tap(weird combo I know). I also was climbing the walls from the emotional rollercoaster of hitting these bugs.

My bladder is pretty much normal now although I am still on heavy treatment and will be for some time.
Hope this eases your mind a little [Smile] Good luck

I was thinking my bladder problems were from Candida?? I noticed while I was on the Candida Diet, urine was able to pass better after a bit. Once going off of the diet it seems to be happening again. Anyone else experience this?
