My sister who is in chronic stage also, got some tests done that she is unable to detox. What do you do then? She's used sauna, (sweat), fillings taken out, chlorella, ...Not sure if its genetic if its the same with me, but I'm trying. I solely am lemon water and ultimate flora, plus learning the hard way that sweets are the enemy. She's been on treatment longer than me and is as disgusted as I am (I know more because its longer) Physical symptoms (neuropathy for her), me big time psych stuff for me and I'm sure her also. I know I've tried to help her many times when I felt well, but she never had that break. We have different personalities, but we're all from the same mom in the same family and it bothers me.

I'm a non-detoxer as well. I have been unable to tolerate all treatments I've tried for the past year. I'm going to see a new llmd with expertise in lyme and detox next friday, and I'll let you know what his plan is for me.

You might PM sixgoofykids. I know she uses the KPU treatment to detox--a combo of zinc, vit. B6 and manganese. It comes in special ratios, but I am sure she would be happy to help you.

She is also one of the moderators, so you will find her name at the top when you log on.

I will pitch in here as I have not done too

much with detox until now. I have done the

water, supplements etc... to no real avail--

still feeling toxic. I took the advice of a friend

who encouraged me to do a coffee enema. Boy did

that make a difference. I am a believer. I feel

like I finally have energy again for the first

time in at least a year. There is lots on this

if you search it. Gerson therapy includes and

at it is a big success with folks with cancer and

treatments... I do believe if you cannot detox

it is too much of a burden on your body to fight

lyme and the cos too... Never thought I would be

here! PM me if you need more info-

I just created a blog. I found it really important to address methylation.

http://lymeideas.wordpress.com/2010/07/31/addressing-methylation-issues-is-critical-for-those-with-lyme-who-cant-detox/

There are quite a few methylation protocols, and I am going to create a post real soon discussing the different protocols and dosages.

In the mean time, if you google "methylation protocol" there are plenty of sources that tell you what supplements you need.

I talked a little bit about KPU in my post. I haven't tried it yet, since you need a practicioner that knows how to deal with chelation relating to KPU treatment. It's not something you want to try on your own in my opinion.

Has she done detox baths with hydrogen peroxide, epsom salt and grated ginger? There's a recipe for it on one of the threads. I'll find it and post it if you'd like. My wife and I do these three times a week with great results.

I was unable to detox and nothing I took made any difference to me. So I have spent the last year working on that and the biggest thing that helped was to exclude gluten and dairy. After working on my diet until I got it perfect for me, I tried acupuncture for help with pain and it boosted my immune system so then I knew there was some hope for me. Now I have started treatment which is herbs and rifing and I do a lot of detoxing work with baths sauna skin brushing and exercise and the sweat is flowing out of me.

Please tell me, if I am UNtreated with late stage lyme (15 years sick, contracted at least 25 years ago) will detox help me? We can only afford to treat my 9 year old daughter (contracted congenitally) and I am so sick I can barely function with head symptoms of pressure, pain and dizziness.

I could take her "leftover" meds, but am way to scared to do that due to herx after receiving abx for surgery and dental.

Drinking lemon-water, is it a waste of time without treatment?

Thanks so much.

Detoxing is always a good thing for those of us with Lyme disease to do. It sounds as if you may have ammonia in your brain and other parts of your body. Your symptoms sound similar to what mine were at one time.

I too have late stage Lyme disease and wasn't treated until ten years after I contracted the disease. When I was at the Hansa Center I tested very high for ammonia. Most Lyme patients test high for ammonia and need to get it out of their bodies as it is a horrible toxin to have and causes all kinds of miserable symptoms like the ones you are experiencing.

Read this article related to Lyme toxins being the primary cause of our symptoms:

So very sorry for the suffering you and your daughter are going through. Praying for you.
