Hi all.

I posted on June 10 about having a deer tick embedded in my ear.

I was on biaxin for babesia at the time.

I didn't want to over react and run immediately to my LLMD.

I probably should have.

About 10 days after the tick bite I started with some joint pain in my right hand.

Progressed to significant right hand joint pain and now

I have various joints hurting.

Disconnected feeling, brain fog, memory issues and word finding problems too.

I saw my LLMD yesterday. I knew I had to.

Diagnosis: Acute borreliosis.

Sigh.

Can't do doxy due to the extreme heat and sun.

He put me on high dose amoxi for the next 6-8 weeks.

I have to return then.

He thinks that as the tick bite was only 6 weeks old,

That I should do fairly well.

I go back to work in about 3 weeks.

At least this time I saw the culprit that got me.

I have spiraled down fairly quickly.

I must admit that I am guilty for ignoring slight symptoms at first too.

I was in a state of denial and it did me little good.

So, here I go again.

Getting back to antibiotics and getting back to remission again.

Down a familiar but bumpy road that I'd rather not travel on.

At least I know that the road smooths out in the end.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks.

It does no good to "wish" symptoms away.

That is a dig on myself.

Now on to getting well.....again.

Hugs,

Geneal

So sorry Geneal. My daughter got another tick bite back in May, but she was on Ceftin, so we haven't noticed any more symptoms.

So sorry that you have to go down this road again, Geneal. [group hug]

You are strong and committed and will make a full recovery, again.

Saying a prayer for you to recover quickly.

Dang, wish this wasn't happening to you again. I would seriously consider moving if I got bit where I live now. I know infection laden ticks are everywhere but some areas have many more than others.

I know it's hard to afford to move with the costs of treatment but avoiding the expense of new infections would more than cover the cost of moving.

I hope it goes really fast this time.

Best wishes for a quick recovery,
Terry

I know we have ticks here in the woodsy country.

I wasn't in the woods.

I wasn't under a tree.

I was sitting under a gazebo on concrete when I felt something crawl up my neck.

I thought it was just a normal bug.

Not a tick.

I never saw the first tick that got me.

I am pretty sure we won't be moving, so it is up to me

To not be so complacent next time....

I am sure with 6 dogs and 2 horses there will be a next time.

Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes.

Hope to be back to better health soon.

What is that saying?

Oh yeah.

Been there.....done that!

Still, couldn't ask for better company. [Smile]

Hugs,

Geneal

I have a real fear of being re-infected as well. We just moved out to our home in a rural area ... lots of tall grasses and deer. I thought we were moving out to paradise ... little did I know! [Frown]

Thanks CD, Lymetoo and all.

It's been very busy with summer, busy children, two new horses....

I try to post as I can (or as the mad house I live in lets me). [Smile]

I also was working two full time jobs last fall for a while,

Then working one full time job from January to June.

I've done very well (except the relapse I put myself into working two jobs).

Remission is a very good place to be.

I always say if you don't have bad you cannot ever

Fully appreciate good.

I've done bad and good....now bad and some day soon again, good.

I don't live in fear of ticks.

Next time I feel something crawling on my neck,

I will make a trip inside to look in a mirror!

I am to pick up my new meds tomorrow.

Can't wait to have that Herx Truck parked outside my house this week. [Frown]

BTW, the LLMD in Louisiana is taking on new patients again.

I asked yesterday while I was there.

I am going to try really hard to stay as active as I can on this board.

I hope you didn't think I had forgotten about my best friends.

Hugs,

Geneal
