Has anyone noticed their lips are more chapped/ bleeding? Which bacteria if any could be doing this assuming fluid intake/ nutrition is the same?

It could be a B vitamin deficiency. Are you taking a multivitamin with Bs?

vit. b def. could be...i was b12 def. last yr. we ramped up my b12 to a normal level and i still have this problem, although it's better. can't remember if it was worse before fixing the b12 though.
for me, using an all natural lip balm helps. i get mine from my dentist but maybe you could try burts bees? i stopped using lipstick & gloss because it seemed to make the chapping & peeling worse.

You can easily get in the habit of licking your lips or using chapstick/lip balm too often. Petroleum products (like blistex or chapstick) will only worsen the problem.
Is your mouth dry? Many medications cause dry mouth, that would cause dry lips.
For quick relief try something like Burt's bee's original lip balm (my favorite). It has healing oils. I use it before bed and it keeps my lips soft and moist.
If the cracks are in the corners of your mouth it may be a mixed bacterial and fungal infection. It will go away with time but that might take many months. You could ask your doctor for an RX for faster healing.
So there are a couple potential causes for you to investigate. Try the Burt's bee's for relief while you try to figure out what's going on.

I have Lyme and Bart, and this problem, as strange as it is, only started since exposure and gets better when I am on antibiotics.

I've had chapped lips ever since I had an allergic reaction to fluoride when I was a teen. I do not use fluoridated toothpaste (since that time).
Maybe this would help you also??
I found a very good organic lip balm at Target about a month ago and I think it DOES help .. I had been using Blistex for years. I really think I use less lip balm now.

I have chapped lips because they are dry.
I actually had chapped lips before I had lyme disease as does most of the general population.

I guess chapped isn't the word to describe it- my lips are constantly flaking off and bleeding a significant amount. My gums also bleed excessively (I can spit blood) without contact agitation (brushing, eating, chewing) and no history of gingavitis. This is new since being sick and gets better with antibiotics. (In addition to other more established 'traditional' symptoms, such as joint pain, headaches, fatigue etc.)
