my friend says drinking apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoons in about a cup of water, really helps her with inflammation and yeast.

anybody else try this?

I sometimes drink it with tinctures to make the herb more bioavailable.

It is pretty gross but it is supposed to be good for you.

In fact my LLMD wants me taking it also. I think her reasons were different than those you specified but can't remember what it is for at the moment.

I haven't added it in yet but I have taken some a couple times before. It is just soooo gross.

I think my doc wants me taking 2 tablespoons not teaspoons as you mentioned.

Be sure you use the vinegar with the mother.

Try it on a salad with olive oil. That is really delicious.

It is supposed to benefit you in a lot of ways - even helps with arthritis. When I was on doxy it prevented acid reflux.

I need to get back into it myself.

Good advice...my LLMD did say to try using it on salad with olive oil.

I am going to have to try that. I haven't been doing the cider but I need to get to it.

I think she also said I could try putting it in a smoothie to mask the flavor as well.

Today both my inner knees and below are swollen and hurting even more than usual.

I have just 15 minutes ago tied 2 old tights soaked in apple cider vinegar [with mother] round them and already there is terrific pain relief: the whole area feels cool and anaesthetised!

I don't recommend this look for an important date, by the way.

Guess i am a little dumb...ok ok..maybe a lot dumb...lol... but what does "with the mother" or (mother) mean??? Thanks

Randi,

my LLMD had me start this 2 weeks ago....its not that gross if you like vinegar....plus she has me put local honey in...can't ay if it helsp or hurts but my mouth seems a bit clearer so far...plus its very cheap. Go to Whole Foods and by Braggs brand....it has the mother in it.

Mother means a natural bacteria that occurs in apple cider and will still be present if not filtered or pasterized....it is supposed to be quite benefical....the motehr contains many minerals otherwise lost if pasterized...

I was told that Braggs has MSG in it.. If it does I can't take that. Is there another brand? Does anyone know if there is MSG in it?

I was drinking ACV for a bit for other reasons. I found if I put honey in a little warm water (to dissolve honey), then the ACV and more water on ice wasn't bad at all - almost like having a cocktail.

When I was a kid I used to pour shots of vinegar and drink it. also would drink the whole jar of pickle juice

this would not be a problem for me

msg in the bragg's ACV??? i highly, highly doubt it. can anyone confirm this?

Posted by Pam08 (Member # 19203) on :

As far as the MSG you might be thinking of the Bragg's Liquid Aminos and not their ACV. I don't know for sure though but I also doubt the ACV would have MSG in it.

Edited to say...Here are the ingredients I just found online for the Bragg's ACV

"Ingredients: Certified Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Purified Water. Diluted to 5% acidity."

No MSG in that. I think you were thinking of the Bragg's Liquid Aminos which looks like it may have the MSG.

I used to make hot tea out of it. Just add Stevia, still not that good, but supposed to be good for you.

I heat up frozen blueberries, add Braggs ACV, stevia and water for a drink... or your favorite oil for a salad dressing. The blueberries make it pretty good.

My husband says I should bottle the dressing and market it... lol.

DEFINITELY NO MSG in Braggs ACV.

THE best on the market.

And yes, be sure it has the "mother" in it which Braggs does.

Best

My neighbor, who is a diabetic, says she uses it to lower her blood sugar when it is high. She has not used drugs in 30 years.

I have been using it with olive oil on salads and and it is great on cooked spinach. It would probably be good on cooked broccoli and carrots too.

I am trying to reinvent myself in the kitchen. Find healthy alternatives that are delicious so I enjoy that part of my life again.
