Well, after feeling good for the last several months, I finished my last "pulse" 8 days ago. I only take meds 10 days out of the month, and have been feeling pretty good for the last several months.

Today I am nausous, dizzy and my muscles feellike I ran a marathon. I don't have fatigue which was major when I treated for babs.

I'm use to being off meds...not sure if this is a major relapse..but not sure why now.

My other thought is the approach of menopause..I've notice my hair falling out, weight gain around the tummy....

How do you tell the difference?

I had no herx on my last round of meds.

If you are starting to go through menopause you will start having very irregular periods or skip them altogether. Are you at the age for perimenopause?

I just recently started going through it myself and have had to start taking hormones. LLMD said it is neccessary because its too much for the body to deal with LD and perimenopause at the same time.

You could get your hormones checked; however I will tell you that mine actually came back in the normal range even though things were definetly not normal in that department.

Once I skipped my period 3 months in a row, then other things happened that no one cares to hear about, I started the hormones. They have taken some of the stress off my body.

The fact is you could be relapsing or it could be menopause or both.

son's girlfriend said she is losing lots of hair, and claims she is gaining weight. She is only 18 and has lyme and bartonella.

I am 20, and I have Bartonella and Lyme. Weight gain is VERY common. I gained 30 lbs about. I went from 143 to 177... in 4 months.

It affected my Thyroid.

I'm going to be 50! So yes, I'm at the age. I don't think I got re-infected-I don't venture outside without tick spray-and stay away from tall grass etc.

When I first got sick from lyme and friends..I lost 20 lbs! I just recently had my thyroid checked..it was fine.

My lyme doc said the way to tell the difference between a relapse and menopause is, if it is lyme you will have:

1. migrating pains (first here, then moves to there, etc.)
2. cyclical symptoms (every 4 weeks, etc.)
3. I forget the third one

So, wait a few months and see how it goes.

My doc did an antibiotic challenge to check for me. I took meds for 10 days or so, then had to do a certain urine test (every day at home for so many days) that looked for dead lyme bacteria in my urine. There wasn't any, so it was menopause.

TF, I thought the urine antigen test was very inaccurate anyways?

I don't really have pain, just dizziness and nausea. I think bart/babs were my problems!

Problem is, they seem to come mid-cycle of my period, which is every 4 weeks

Have your Thyroid ck'd. Hair falling out and weight gain is typical too. Lyme throws our adrenals and thyroids into a tizzy. Tests will most of the time come back normal. Take your temp every morning.
