I started Cat's Claw (Raintree brand) this morning - I only took one capsule and am planning on just taking one capsule a day for a week and building up very slowly because I generally don't do well with new meds. Doc is recommending eventually 4 caps 3 times a day.

I have had terrible nausea all afternoon, body feels tingly, almost flu-like. Probably have not felt this bad in quite some time. Can just one capsule make me feel like this and will I get used to it if I persevere? I wasn't feeling fantastic anyway before I took it so it's hard to tell what's what.

and now I read something somebody posted about levaquin and samento being incompatible - I had a rash with levaquin many years ago - should I not even be taking Cat's Claw?

Sara at 1stchineseherbs says that ata claw can have some estrogen effects and thus liver effects (decrease in bile)

she said a lot of people experience flu-like symptoms after starting it.

This is my third day with extreme nausea - have taken only one cap Cat's Claw on Monday and one on Tuesday. Is this just not for me? I know I am a poor metabolizer - it's just not feeling helpful to take something that's making me feel worse.

Stop the cat's claw for a couple days and see how you feel.
