I am sure that most of you know this, but just in case I am reporting our experience.

My husband started his doxy about a month ago. Last week he was working on our roof and got a nasty sunburn. He had on a hat and sunscreen but still got nasty large blisters on his hands and arms.

He is very fair and used to be careful. But now the doxy has made him supersensitive and he must stay out of the sun.

I have great skin, but even I feel some dryness and itching that I think comes from the meds.

I know that my hair is fried from the meds....it has never been like this before.

So be careful everyone!

With doxy you become photosensitive and can even burn thru the car window. It is very easy to get sun poisoning on doxy... minocycline was not quite as bad. We learned the hard way that even sunscreen doesn't help enough!

Yep, When I was on doxy my arm did in fact get burned through a car window. My skin also became hyper sensitive to even moderate temperature changes. ie. cold water. It was not terrible just needed to be careful is all.

Bactrim can also cause photosensitivity. I didn't find it to be as bad as Doxycycline........that caused super burning.
