if so, how did it go?

I had Lasik surgery performed in Feb 2000. It went great.

Over the years my better than 20/20 vision has declined to maybe 20/30 or 20/40 but it is still good.

I had Lasik about 8 years ago. I now have mono vision and it's great.

I would be hesitant since my vision seemed to change with Lyme

Peggy, you mean that one eye is corrected for near vision, and one eye for distance, right? And you had no problem getting used to the monovision? Hasn't your near vision gotten worse since then with age?

I've considered getting CK to do that, but am very hesitant to get surgery, esp on my eyes! And esp with Lyme, since my vision changes according to symptoms. But mostly it's getting worse from getting older!

Yes, one eye is corrected for near vision & one for distance.

I didn't have any problems adjusting to mono vision. I needed a very high correction and the doctor didn't know if the results would be 20/20. Both eyes were 20/40 after Lasik. I have a 2nd procedure on my left eye to correct it to 20/20. I have thicker than normal corneas so this could be done.

I'm 50 and my near vision is still good.

The only problem I have is seeing some shadowing on my left eye when I'm in a dimly lit room. I could get a contact for my left eye to correct this.

could the people who go it done please specify if they got it down before or after lyme. thanks.

by the way, in my situation im not too worried about having surgery - ive had lyme for 5 months and been on ABX for almost that whole time. i haven't really had any bad symptoms (knock wood).

If you have a dry eye problem you should really rethink this surgery.

I almost got it done years ago (before my diagnosis but not before Lyme) and I'm SO glad I didn't do it. My nuerological opthomologist said I'm definately not a candidate due to my dry eyes.

I read that 10% of people have big problems with the surgery and most of them have the dry eyes.

The drugs and lyme have really effected my vision so I wouldn't have it done until things were stabilized.

ABX can affect your vision?
