And I have no idea what is causing it. It started when I got diarrhea from plaquenil. I quit that drug and the diarrhea went away. I took a two day break from abx but my side continues to ache. I have looked at diagrams and I think it is just intestines in there. The pain seems to be located in the front but it will get really intense and hurt all the way to my back. I am taking probiotics.

PS. After taking my abx (zithro and bactrim ds) less than two hours ago, my side is really hurting. It was not hurting before I took it.

Lower right pain is often appendicitis--

Here's a decent site:

You might also want to think about c. diff. I had a very intense pain in my left side with that, but I've heard of people having the pain on the right side. I also didn't have a lot of diarrhea with it.

A test for appendicitis is to stand with your feet flat on the floor, then stand on your toes and then drop your heels. If it the pain gets much worse, that could indicate appendicitis.

It is finally getting better - relief! I was worried it was one of the two things mentioned but whatever it was it is calming down. Probably I just had such a bad reaction to the plaquenil my intestines were inflamed from the diarrhea.

It could still come back I guess but at least nothing is going to rupture. It got me motivated to make a decision about which LLMD to see and I made an appointment, so that is good.

Thanks for your replies.

Make sure your diet is clean also. Just taking probiotics won't necessarily keep you from getting yeast.

Bartonella can cause mesenteric adenitis and therefore mimic appendicitis. A $3,000 abd/pelvic CT proved it was not appy in my case.
