If you don't take liver supplements, you will herx harder and that could put even more stress on your liver. The idea with supplements is that they nourish your body so that a herx is better tolerated.

Are you taking a good liver support supplement? A stressed liver can cause bloating in the abdomen.

Are you also taking a good probiotics, away from Rx and away from supplements? Candida (systemic yeast) can also cause bloating. Probiotics help to prevent that.

Adrenal support is also helpful. Stressed adrenals can cause belly bloating, too.

When it happened to me, it was candida. I hadn't changed my diet or my drugs or probiotics right before that, though I was eating more carbs than I should have been at the time. I don't know why it picked that moment to show up.

I knew it was candida because, besides my stomach bloating and my food sitting there like a lump of lead when I ate it, I had thrush on my tongue and feminine itching, which showed up first.

When the candida got bad, I also got constipated and got bad insomnia, which went away as soon as I got it back under control.

Had the same thing. Felt and looked prego and I am very thin!

For me it was yeast/candida. Did natural supp.'s as well as prescription and it took the bloating WAY down.

Once off abx.s stomach looked and felt normal again but once I go back on Abx.'s it always becomes a struggle no matter how closely I pay attention to my diet. But, the natural supp.'s and Nystatin really helps.

YEAST, definitely!! (in my non-medical opinion!) [Wink]

Lyme symptoms list compared with yeast symptoms

DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Yeast was the cause of terrible bloating for me.

My diet is basically what you mentioned in the diet.. Im unsure about rice, i eat balsamiti rice everyday. other than that i once in awhile eat a treat... very rarely.

trigal 2 what supplements?

Keebler what liver supplements? I have one i havent started yet as i am very sensitive to everything right now... So trying to be careful what i add. espicaly if it has more than one herb in it.

what is a simple place to start for liver detox?

Milk thistle is good for the liver.

Isn't basmati rice white?

Are you on Nystatin?

Posted by Lenire (Member # 26766) on :

basmalit rice is white, but i eat orgainic rice its a bit diffrent than regular rice.

No not on nystatin.

Really dont think i have a yeast problem. but maybe i do..
Is this the only reason there is to equate to the bloating?

Like Trigal , im small but i look pregnant, kinda ( well with a small child..lol ... an ailen child which twist my stomach into knots )

its like all my intestines are inflamed or somthing , i dont know...

Organic basmati is still white rice and too simple of a sugar.

There is a brown basmati. Better: Quinoa, Red Quinoa, Black Chinese Forbidden rice or other black and red rices such as Japonica.

See sites for Lundberg Farms and for Lotus Foods. Google: Quinoa.

Still, grains are in small portion compared to at least 2 kinds of vegetables with every meal, even breakfast.

Go on the diet, take more probiotics, buy some olive leaf extract and see how you feel.

The "I look pregnant" is classic for someone who has yeast issues.

You may need Diflucan to knock it out. I took Nystatin the whole time I was on abx.

I think Keeb is very correct about the white rice. Get some brown or wild rice. ( personally, I would avoid ANY rice or simple carbs for a few weeks until this was under control )

I have the swollen stomach too. I look like those kids in starving 3rd world nations. I am gluten free, sugar free, eat very healthy and have had rounds of yeast and parasite treatments.
I stay on probiotics and nystatin.

This morning I am researching bartonella and heel pain and now I see this thread. I know I have bartonella. Does it also cause swollen belly?

More info please.
