Hey everyone,
My cousins wife is having many health issues and many symptoms of lyme. She has tested NEG for everything including lyme. I recently convinced her to test through IgeneX and here are the results. I'm not sure what to make of these as they aren't screaming lyme to me. However, I do know that if those IND were +, she'd have a POS test. Of course her dr said she doesn't have lyme and blew it off. I think she needs to do the antibiotic challenge and retest. But I think shes unsure of lyme and am worried she too may blow the idea off. I'm really worried for her.

What do you all make of these results? Thanks.

That's a tricky one actually. I would lean towards treating Lyme Disease if I was a physician working with that test result and a history compatible with the disease. I would likely run other testing too though to see if other tick infections are present.

I would say Lyme Disease is possible based on these results.

These are the most important ones to look for when judging this type of test:

The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93.

She has a solid 58 on both IgM and IgG
She has a solid 39 on the IgG
She has an IND 41 on the IgM and IgG
She has a solid 31 on the IgM
She has an IND of 83-93 on the IgM

Compare that to the most significant bands and she has 4.

Think about that now. If we consider cross over reaction, IND's as both negative and or Positive, the final result is still Lyme Disease is likely to be present.

So yeah, Lyme Disease treatment should begin as well as the other testing.

I agree with Mike. What else can show a weak positive on the 83-93 but Lyme? It is the DNA of the Bb. You can't argue with DNA.

The other bands are also significant... esp Band 39.. which, according to Dr C of MO, is "the most specific band of all."

Thanks everyone. She is going to call Dr. Harris at IgeneX to get his take on it.

I appreciate all the feedback.
