Ugh, I wonder why bother repeating igenex lab tests annually as recommended via my llmd. Historically my results were equivocal for relevant Lyme bands- and have been treated accordingly. But, for the first time ever I tested completely (-) for ALL bands! What the heck??! I don't feel like I should have negative results! This is sooo baffeling!

Two months ago I had gallbladder surgery and sent a biopsy to MDL lab; results were (-)!!

Any feedback is welcomed!

It could be that co's are your central issue...

Of course, if you're treating with abx that can throw off the WB too...

You could have viral infections. Have you been tested for HHV-6, EBV, enterovirus?

See: www.hhv-6foundation.org

Stop testing. End of frustration.

Keep treating---end of frustration.

The borrelia have a protein that has the ability to hide other organisms as well as itself.

Haha, Lymetoo and Pinelady give direct, to-the-point advice! [lol]

Why don't you ask your LLMD why they're making you test repeatedly? You shouldn't do anything unless you know why you're doing it, that included, especially if you're the one paying for it.

Perhaps the borrelia bacteria have reverted into cyst form, hiding from everything, thus your body cannot create antibodies against something that it doesn't recognize as even being there.

I agree with the others, when you're fighting Lyme disease you have to be aware that--more likely than not--you're fighting a bunch of other bugs, too, that came from the same tick bite. If treatment for one isn't working, switch it up and fight something else. And if your doctor isn't helping you improve, get another one!

I am guessing that the doctor knows people who are being successfully treated often start producing antibodies again after being seronegative before. So, it could be a way of checking to see how you are doing?

My LLMD does not do a repeat test if you have a positive one. The test is ONLY to prove exposure. It does not prove that the Lyme is gone. Once you have a positive test (to make the insurance company happy as it's really a clinical diagnosis), you treat based on SYMPTOMS not testing!!

I also agree that Lyme is not just Lyme, unless perhaps you were just bitten yesterday.
