I have dealt with Lyme for about 2 years and now it appears that I may be dealing with bartonella. I was wondering if anyone has skin problems with bartonella. Mine is dry and patchy...on my knees, back of my upper arm, on my lower legs. It gets extremely red and patchy when taking a shower...just appears dry after the shower. No itch...just rough, dry patches. Anyone found a cream or treatment?

Avalon Organics has a line of skin care and shower products that contain no petroleum products. Most do. It's not good to use those with any petro product or with alcohol as that is drying.

My dermatologist prescribed a topical emulsion called Biafine (generic name is Prutect). I needed it to help heal my skin when it was super messed up from allergy burns from tape. Doc said that she loves this stuff and uses it for everything at home. I took her comment as an OK to try it with my other skin problems. Now that my arm is healed I've been using it on my ACA dry thin skin areas on my knees, elbows, and feet. It works amazing. Soaks in and makes my skin almost feel normal! A tiny little bit goes a long way. And it only cost $10 from my pharmacy. Worth looking into.

I didn't test positive for Bartonella but I have the symptoms of it, including the shooting foot pain in the mornings. I have troubles with acne and psoriasis and even eczema from time to time (had eczema from birth).

However, my skin itches especially after being wet, so we differ there. But I do suggest "Miracell" at your local health food store if you have one. A lot of people have good results with it that come into the store I work at.

Hope you find something, good luck [Smile]
