Is the testing for coinfections inaccruate like other lyme testing? Or are these tests usually fairly reliable? I have had a negative western blot, followed by IgM+, then started 100mg doxy, then another completely negative western blot a month later.

I tested negative for all coinfections which was a surprise to me because most of my symptoms are nuerological which seemed to come before joint pain. Also wondering if the doxy could have effected my western blot or coinfection testing.

page 5 for testing info

pages 12-19 for treatment info

Do you only take 100 mg of doxy per day? Not nearly enough.

You had a positive Lyme test. You have Lyme. And can assume you have coinfections.

I just finished 4 weeks of 2x a day 100mg Doxy. I agree I need more treatment but it is just a matter of testing positive yet again ( last test was negative) to get insurance to cover my treatment which as I'm sure you know is very expensive.

Why can't you use the positive test to prove you have Lyme? Do you know for sure they won't accept that?

If they have already said NO, then that proves what we preach here. STOP testing when you get a positive test!!

Coinfection testing is just as unreliable as the Lyme testing .. maybe even more so. Your chances of a positive test result go UP if you use Igenex. Fry lab is good for coinfection testing also.

Unfortunately I was not knowledgable of all the controvery surrounding lyme before I was retested, and just listened to what the Infectious Disease doctor said thinking it would work.

Well none of us were knowledgable at the beginning. You probably will not get much help from an ID doc.
