Arnica 30x was recommended for an injury my husband has. Worked well for him and it got my wondering. Sure enough a search here with some posts by you and I decided to try it.

If worked for about 4 days when I was going through that pressure, inflammation in the base of the neck. I was doing 30x 4 sublingual.

Now the inflammation, pain in my neck is back and even worse. What experience did you have with increasing dosage?

Should I not use it until sx occurs or use it daily regardless of high inflammation?

Pam,

Basically I only use Arnica for two things:

1. after an injury, even after "walking into the dishwasher" door that is often open to air out. Both homeopathic and lotion (Trameel).

2. after a seizure (then I use 200 ck homeopathic but I've worked up to that over time) - it prevents a migraine from brain swelling that often follows a seizure if I forget to use it.

- I have tried arnica to offset a seizure where my adrenals are in the danger zone. I have not found this to be effective. Seems to work afterward for recovery but does not prevent an adrenal shock from blasting me to the moon - at least I've not found that to work that way.

- my ND tells me that, for on-golng acute pain & chronic pain, both arnica homeopathic and lotion can help. Sometimes, for aching knees or ankles it helps. But it's not enough if my magnesium is low or I've been off curcumin.

if the homeopathic does not seem to help for daily pain, I would save it for bumps, bruises or times when you may be near or in adrenal shock. - or try the Trameel lotion on your neck.

Arnica homeopathic is very helpful after an adrenal shock (startle reflex stuff) but only if aggressive rest follows. It's not the miracle to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the horse. Rest is required nearly anytime arnica is necessary to use.

For on-going help to lessen inflammation, turmeric or the stronger curcumin helps, with magnesium and fish oil.

If you have gallbladder trouble, stick to the turmeric as opposed to the stronger curcumin (which is turmeric extract).

MSM may also help inflammation. But be sure not to stress your neck too much. Rest is vital. Body mechanics, too, need to be near perfect with little leeway for that tired posture that I seem to fall into.

If you've had muscle stress, a massage, more magnesium, etc. might help. Arnica does not work the same way as supplements.
Supplements are much stronger.

But, arnica for an emergency is much more helpful in ways that supplements are not, at that particular time, in that manner.

With homeopathy, less is more. [Smile]
If you are getting relief from taking the remedy, you should stop taking it until the symptom comes back and then you can take it again. If you take too much, you can cause a "proving"--you get the symptoms that the remedy should relieve. Strange, I know...

Arnica NEVER works for my son. If he has an acute injury, it is the fear that it causes that needs to be addressed more than the injury itself. Once I treat the fear (aconite usually works for him), then I can go about figuring out what remedy is needed to address the pain (hypericum has worked for nerve pain, mag phos for cramping pain, etc).

Fascinating stuff!!!

Be sure to talk with your LL doctor about the neck pain. It's very common with lyme and it may be a sign that treatment needs to be adjusted. (But also assess the amount of physical stress your neck has been under lately. My posture is so often to blame.)

Many NDs and L.Ac.s are also trained in homeopathy, but not all of them. There is also the occasional homeopathic professional who is neither an ND or L.Ac., though may have other certification(s).

seek, I agree. If you use search engine and Keebler together you find amazing info.

Thanks Keebler. Neck pain seems to be a stir up of the lyme reacting to rifampin I'm using for bart.

I've going to see my LL doctor. I can't take the neck pain any longer.

Pam,

I'm glad you will talk to your LLMD. The neck is just as important as the brain when it needs attention.

As for stuff I post, it's nice to hear it helps - yet, really, just one piece of the puzzle. Many here offer wonderful details.

hoot's post added to my knowledge base. As do many others' here.

So, again, to EVERYONE here at LymeNet who makes this work the best we can in very challenging times. Cheers to all !
