I see alot of people here talking about cystic lyme. and cyst blocker meds and stuff

I know that lyme can go dormant and stay in your system in a cyst form and then return . I think that might have hapened to me.

Does the ILADS guidelines know about cystic lyme and give ways to treat it?

Someone else can probably answer your question better but I will offer my explantion. Bb forms a cyst when it is stressed by abx (or whatever) and can remain in this dormant state for a long time - some estimates are decades.

So if you do not take an abx that attacks the cyst form you will relapse whenever you quit treatment. You feel well, quit abx, and the cysts become active again - relapse.

Certain drugs attack the cysts. Fagyl and tindamax are most effective but plaquenil also helps. It is now thought that Diflucan may attack lyme and the cyst form of it. Grapefruit seed extract is believed to attack the cyst form as well.

Yes..ILADS guidelines, particularly Dr. B's treatment guidelines, address cysts.

Your regimen should include cyst busters at some point. Each doc's protocol is different. My LLMD has me pulse 1000 mg of Flagyl / day for 3 days every 2 weeks. Other LLMD's I know tell their patients to do 500mg / day for 3 days weekly, while still others say take for 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
