We are considering purchasing a FIR sauna. I have MCS, and they are becoming more severe, so I feel the need to detox.

My children have chelated and are no longer full of heavy metals. I have not and have tested high in mercury and lead as well as other metals.

Will I contaminate the sauna by sweating out the heavy metals, therefore creating a toxic environment in the sauna?

Would this cause my family to be contaminated with metals all over again?

I have no experience in the subject, but my gut tells me that this is highly unlikely.

Why don't you try chelating? With DMSA or something like that?

And most of all, if your children are fine, why would they be in the sauna in the first place?

You will not create a toxic environment in the sauna. Everybody will still be able to enjoy the sauna's many health benefits.

I just purchased one from High Tech Health as recommended by Dr. H and am awaiting its arrival.

There is also a great portable sauna that sells for about $300 that many people rave about. That one comes from Promo Life.

The one that I just bought ended up being in the 3,300 price range with shipping. Shipping was pretty expensive.

Good luck with your decision. Check out the website anyway..there is a lot of useful information.

Heavy metals are not airborne but you can wash the walls of the sauna if you are concerned. Sitting/lying on a towel, and when done, wrapping yourself with a towel to absorb sweat should be enough. You'd do that anyway.

Heavenly Heat infrared is one of the best models suggested for those with MCS as they are mostly of glass and they use non-toxic glues for the wood pieces.

3030,

We plan to let the kids use it from time to time to keep them detoxed.

The problem is; we have to keep detoxing because we are constantly exposed.

I am allergic to DMSA. The md used it for the kids and it worked well for them.

I am working with a homeopath who is going to help me chelate with homeopathics. She is also helping with the chemicals, and cleansing my screwed up body.

She wants my immune system and organs in better shape before attempting the chelation.

I am now in remission, but now realize what a number this disease has done on me. 20 years plus of undiagnosed lyme has taken it's toll - lots of damage.

The kids have not done any detox for the chemicals, just the metals. My daughter, in particular, has allergies and asthma. There are several environmental things and chemicals that set her off.

So I don't want them to end up like me.

I am glad to know about the materials used in the sauna, as I have become hypersensitive. Seems like it is well worth the investment.

Thanks.
