i am extremely tired since 6 wks and am still trying to find out whats the reason for it. its too severe for a flu.

it started with sore throat and white tongue, then also sudden sweating, intense heart beat, itchy eyes, red dots on skin, headache. now im still too weak to get into my bathroom. i guess its something else than lyme on top.

but my blood test was still "normal". cr-reactive protein was negative, leucocytes were normal (only a little bit low). the infection disease doc says an infection cant be the reason for my new throat-tiredness-and-so-on-symtoms as there is no sign of inflammation in my blood.

now im remembering that ive heard this sentence before when my lyme symptoms started. is it possible that lyme patients never show any sign of inflammation, even for other infections (maybe cos borrelia suppresses the immune system)? and if so, how do i convince the infectious doc that this is the case?

what could cause my new symtoms?

i was told the same thing. i had a full cbc done and not one level was abnormal.

I sometimes have doubts about whether or not i have lyme. But after 7 months of feeling run down, tired, sick, sore, achy (after a tick bite) what else could it be??

The blood count was done 4 months into treatment during a few week long break from abx.

People with lyme dont usually have elevated SED RATES. Thats another reason why its not diagnosed and its overlooked alot

The tests that can help aid in diagnosis but not ALWAYS is a western blot, a CD 57 immune marker test and checking RBC MAGNESIUM levels. they tend to be depleted most times in lyme patients

Hi Steven-

Typical tests for inflammation many LLMDs run are C Reactive Protein, ANA, CD57, and sed rate....Unfortunately, I like others you will see in a similar thread I started recently, wish we knew how to get more extensive immune/inflammation testing....Perhaps an immunologist could do this????

Many of us have LOW sed rates due to hypercoagulation.

Dump the INF DISEASE doctor so you can stand a chance at getting well!!
You can't get well under a dr who doesn't understand anything about Lyme disease!

Candida diet and elimination:

DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

One of the best inflammation tests is for Cytokines. NeuroScience labs has one of the best for this. It test for all the interleukin cytokine markers and shows the normal drs that yes there is inflammation.

Each inflammatory disease has specific interleukin cytokines such as RSD has IL-10 to IL 12. I can't remember what lyme has.

Usually this will show an increase of 3 to 4 times the normal levels. They also have a Lyme test that is NOT an antibody test , is over 90% accurate and test the cytokines to only the lyme pathogen.

So if you test pos to lyme then they test for the inflammation cytokines against just that pathogen. The result is a specific accurate positive test to only lyme. No cross reactions.

I showed my pain doctor at USC the test and he loved it and said " well that proves your inflammation and pain"..Yeah !!!

Sk8ter--When you received your test results showing which inflammatory markers you have, what did your doctor suggest to treat (either palliative or curative) the inflammation?
