Its pretty obvious how much better one can feel when spending more time outdoors where there are more negative ions and sunshine than indoors. I have been trying to find ways to increase the negative ions indoors and to connect to negative ions from outdoors by grounding.

Supposedly plants produce negative ions so having them indoors would help with the ions and cut down on indoor pollutions. When I was looking this up, I came across bamboo charcoal and how if you have this substance in your house with proper humidity...that it would produce negative ions, and deodorize.

Has anyone heard of this or had any experience?

The following is a link that talks about the different ways to get neg ions. Scroll down to the bamboo charcoal and click on it

I think you can get negative ions from salt lamps (google as I don't have a link) and also from grounding mats/sheets/bands...see
http://earthing.com

some essential oils also add negative ions

Thankyou.....yes....I know about the grounding and I do have salt lamps. Here's the thing. I do have a grounding sheet for my bed...no leg cramps since I have been using it for about 2 months now. I have ordered a gounding mat for the computor as the wrist band is more of a pain to use.

I have several salt lamps but I don't think they create too many negative ions when there is no humidity in the air. I do love the lamps though for their warm orange glow. Its very soothing to me.However, they do use electricity and create emfs.

Supposedly the bamboo charcoal also needs humidity to activate so I would need to use a humidifier which I am using anyway in the winter.

I have an emf meter which measures the manmade electromagnetic frequencies...and this is what I found out on my walk the other day. http://tinyurl.com/232g92l

I don't have my essential oil book to tell you which ones have a negative ion effect...I can borrow my mom's later and add the list.

WOW! Beautiful pics of frozen water!!!!!

I think my hubby is benefiting from the grounding sheet.

My son with autism and absence seizures is also using the sheet. Not sure if I am seeing anything there but it can't hurt for him to use it. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes in his EEG when he has a 48 hour test in January. I wonder if there will be different brain waves while sleeping on the sheet vs. when he is not. I don't think I will tell his doc about it (she already thinks I am strange [Wink] ). I contacted the Earthing company and I was sent an article that includes a study about EEGs and changes in brain waves (especially the left hemisphere) while earthing.

I'm not sure how to post the link to the study mentioned above but you can find it by going to http://earthinginstitute.net
and click on RESEARCH at the top of the page. Then scroll down to Earthing Studies and click on study #4 (part 1) and study #3 (part 2).
