Did you notice any help in the area of anxiety and your mood?
Ever since I started abx treatment, my anxiety has skyrocketed. I don't tolerate meds that would help with this.
I have ordered the KPU test, but in the meantime.....
I am suffering so badly. I was just wondering if the treatment helped in any way if you had anxiety.
I tested low in B6, selenium and E last summer, but when supplementing them, I got worse so I stopped.
Manganese was not tested. I did a zinc taste test and tasted nothing, but the blood test said my zinc level was normal.
Now I'm wondering if I felt worse from supplementing because of KPU. Because I felt worse, I stopped taking these things.
I'm just not gonna make it if I can't do something to get to the root of this anxiety. It is something biological, not psychological. I was just sitting in the warm sun and pulling dead weeds, and felt like I would come out of my skin with anxiety. This is torture.
When you say KPU treatment made a difference for you, in what way do you mean?

I just know if this head crap would go away, my body would relax. I can feel it.
But how do you get the head crap to go away? It's been there 5 years.
I saw that a symptom of KPU was anxiety and depression. That would be me.
I am so sorry. I am about to have a meltdown from feeling so tortured I have tried sooo hard to get well and feel so defeated right now.
This is not me. This is not who I was before getting sick. I had absolutely no reason to mentally start feeling this way. My life was perfect and I was happy, and it all went to crap .

I didn't realize I had anxiety until it went away with KPU treatment. KPU is tough, as you say, but it does help the anxiety and I felt better once I worked through all the toxins and the immune system kicking back in.

Not sure if it was only the KPU, but after several months on the regimen my anxiety/keyed-up feeling went away. It's been gone now for a year. I had been on antibiotic combo about 8 months before I introduced KPU into the mix.

As far as binders, I am taking chlorella and NAC and just ordered apple pectin since I did ok with that.

I am doing 2/3 of the KPU protocol, high dose B6 and omega 3/6. Have not done the zinc part yet as that is what makes stuff dump and I'm waiting on my Spectracell results. I have had improvement in mood.

This is all so scary...truly "fighting for your life" scary.
My hair lady came over today to do my hair, and I just cried and cried to her. I was so miserable, I couldn't help it. All I could think was, at least my hair will look better when I die.
I was so embarrassed.

I came out positive for KPU (still don't really understand what it is).
Had my mercury amalgams removed. Did the protocol per an ND and felt no different.
This was before I knew about the Lyme. I had been diagnosed with CFIDS originally.
That KPU test was over a year ago so I'm getting it re-tested.

Dr K says that he has patients "become immune to Lyme and co's and even metals" in his write ups about KPU treatment. Are any of those people here?

hopeforhealth - yes this protocol can be potentially dangerous... by supplementing with zinc, you run the risk of being deficient in copper and this must be monitored by a doctor.
My ND knows nothing of HPU/ KPU - she knows of the meridians and checks his organ functions by energy testing (weekly)... this is still not enough.
We have our LLMD supervising with CBC blood tests... there are two tests (not able to get them in NY) from Doctor's Data that are helpful in HPU - Hair Toxic Element Exposure Profile & Red Blood Cell Elements.

I have two problems.....
1) I started watching the video link above about KPU, and only watched the first 45 minutes with intentions to come back and finish watching. Now I can't get the video to load. It's almost like it was taken down. Can anybody else see it?
2) I have my KPU test and am not quite sure how to do Klinghardt's directions. The instructions with the test say to take one urine sample and IMMEDIATELY FREEZE.
I know Klinghart says to do a 24 hour sample.
Do I put it in the fridge instead? This concerns me because the directions are in bold underlined print to FREEZE IMMEDIATELY. You can't freeze a 24 hour urine collection unless you thaw it out to pour into the sample tubes.
And he said to add 500mg vitamin C per liter of urine. This is where my Lyme brain goes dead.
Do I put a 500mg tablet of Vitamin C in the 24 hour collection container and just let it dissolve itself?
Or does the vitamin C have to be in powder form so it will immediately mix to keep it preserved since I'm not freezing it right away?
If you can answer any of these questions, I'd appreciate it. I am so worried I will screw this up.

Yes, it looks like it was taken down. Maybe they don't have enough bandwidth to have people viewing it multiple times (like me). Or maybe they did not have permission to air it.
I have not been able to find another copy anywhere on the Internet. What a great resource -gone!
On the last page of this (written) interview there are instructions on how to do the collection:
From what I understand, you have to add the ascorbic acid to preserve the sample, so I would not wait until the end.
Don't forget the aluminum foil around the outside of the container to keep the EMFs from the refrigerator from screwing up the sample!

I have not seen any directions stating add vitamin c. The ones I linked to and another one I have saved on my computer say ascorbic acid.
The question then is ascorbic acid the same as vitamin c... I would say no. Look at the ingredients of your vitamin c tablet... is it pure ascorbic acid?

Then, should you put a tablet in whole and hope that it disintegrates... no. I would mash it with a mortar and pestle then add.

My bottle of Vitamin C says 100% l-ascorbate
GAH! But it has minute parts of other stuff like calcium and magnesium! Not much, but it's there.
Shoot!

If not, do you have any health stores you can call and ask if they have pure ascorbic acid? Or a pharmacy?
If you go to google, search ascorbic acid and click on the shopping tab... you can click a box called "in stock nearby" Give it a shot.

I also contacted the BHG and asked what he thought since he had Dr. K's KPU info on his website, and he said the vitamin C I have should be fine and to crush it up.
Sooooo.....doing my 24 hour KPU test starting tomorrow. Wish me luck.
