after 2 week flare of lyme symtpoms and severe stomach issues and ending up in the hospital overnight,i have deceided to start biaxin with plaquenil prescribed from llmd 2 mos ago.i did not start earlier because of yeast issues and am scared half to death of diarrhea problems.anyhow after spending the whole weekend with nightsweats and day sweats, shortness of breath strange diagphram feeling and intestinal burning, i cannot take it and started biaxin. one hr after biaxin i got a strange feeling in throat and felt a little breathless and anxiety,it has passed but am hoping this is just a mild herx because i was feeling so crappy to begin with.some of my original symptoms was first back, arm and neck pain with pins and needles everywhere.which progressed into shortness of breath, sweats and feeling like my diaphram was paralyzed.this was over 3 yrs ago.i tested negative for babs but i have always wondered if i have it.she told me bartonella does the same thing.i have read biaxin is very difficult to tolerate.i also am going to get artemisia tomorrow and i hope it is the right brand.my llmd does not like artesmia and says it is very toxic which may be true but i am VERY TOXIC!!i hate saying this but everytime i hear of someone taken or thinking of taken there lives i feel like i understand, and it scares me how horrible this illness.my brother had it 10 yrs ago and went to the best hospitals only to be turned away.he said he never felt that low in his whole life.he now has cancer and i started crying he said cancer is very scary but feels it is understood by doctors and feels supported even though it may not be great.he actually said he would rather go through the cancer then the unknowns of lyme disease again.i feel i would be pretty scare of either.sorry for rambling i do not feel so well.i do not think my llmd will prescribe mepron so arteminisin and biaxin i will try.

Breaking up this post so that all can read it:

after 2 week flare of lyme symtpoms and severe stomach issues and ending up in the hospital overnight,i have deceided to start biaxin with plaquenil prescribed from llmd 2 mos ago.

i did not start earlier because of yeast issues and am scared half to death of diarrhea problems.

anyhow after spending the whole weekend with nightsweats and day sweats, shortness of breath strange diagphram feeling and intestinal burning, i cannot take it and started biaxin.

one hr after biaxin i got a strange feeling in throat and felt a little breathless and anxiety,it has passed but am hoping this is just a mild herx because i was feeling so crappy to begin with.

some of my original symptoms was first back, arm and neck pain with pins and needles everywhere.which progressed into shortness of breath, sweats and feeling like my diaphram was paralyzed.this was over 3 yrs ago.

i tested negative for babs but i have always wondered if i have it.she told me bartonella does the same thing.i have read biaxin is very difficult to tolerate.

i also am going to get artemisia tomorrow and i hope it is the right brand.my llmd does not like artesmia and says it is very toxic which may be true but i am VERY TOXIC!!

Why do you not think your LLMD will prescribe Mepron? It's pretty standard. I would ask about it and see what answer you get.

Prior to my Lyme diagnosis I was prescribed Biaxin for sinus infections. I noticed that I had sleep problems whenever I was on it.

My doc at the time just rolled his eyes. My LLMD and I now know it was probably a herx symptom.

When I was on it long-term for Babs I did not have that problem. Of course now I am on sleep meds to make it through the night anyway.

Ditto to above. I would certainly inquire about it.

B/c of your stomach issues and concerns, you may want to ask about diflucan as well. Just make sure to have your metabolic panel tests done routinely, as some say it can be rough on one's liver.

We've been/are at where you are now emotionally. Know that you are supported and thought of.

(Regarding the level of toxicity you mentioned, are you on glutathione/methyl B-12 injections/any detox support? Either way, keep in mind that taking a BRIEF couple of days to recover from herxes is not always a bad thing.)

I've heard others say the same thing.

Biaxin was a great drug for me. It wasn't any harder on me that any of the other abx. Actually easier than doxy!!

Yes, be sure you are protecting against yeast... Take the best probiotics you can afford and get some Nystatin for prevention.

Diflucan would be great if your LLMD will agree.

I agree with Lymetoo about probiotics such as
Florastor and Theralac for instance. Clarithromycin and Artemisinin will likely suppress Babesia symptoms and help you feel better too. Once you feel better you can re-appraise your situation and you and your LLMD/DO
can decide what to do next. Ditto on those blood chemistries, some LLMD/DO's also do an EKG before starting Clarithro., but not all do so.
Taking the Magnesium supps, can help some with
Clarithro. side effects but should be taken well away from the antibiotics you are taking eg at a different time of day. You may benefit from things like alph-lipoic acid to help with Detox,
even extra veggies or fiber can help too.
Stick with your plan, the low mood should turn back upward and may follow the cycles of Lyme and Co's or may be more related to Detox need.
Protein feeds your immune system, as does sleep,
try to get plenty of each. Keep posting . . .
