Now to my situation... I had "herx" ractions to antibiotics/herbs. Now the thing is, many of the "herx" symptoms disappear if i just take an antihistamine pill. It does work in most of the cases.
What do you think? Is this common? I sometimes think it's not lyme it's only histaminosis but that would be kind of too easy..

Well I have the same situation energyman.
When I take some Benadryl my "lyme/herx" symptoms get better.
According to my LLMD the body CAN have an allergic reaction to the die-off/toxins left over from the lyme - which could result in the release of histamine in the body.
Same thing happens to me when I eat a food that I am allergic to - I get really bad body and bone pain. If I take some Benadryl it subsides.
Like everything....who really knows for sure but it works for me and takes the edge off.

My doctor wanted me to take something to control histamines in order to help with herx reactions.

After I started Zith I developed a rash. My LLMD told me to take Ranitidine and Zyrtec. They are different in the way they act on the body. Together they cleared up my rash very quickly.
Rash indicates die off so there is a silver lining there! Have to look at it from a positive angle.

When lyme gave me trigeminal neuralgia (unbearable!), Benadryl got rid of it. Nothing else I tried worked. What a relief.
I know I really did have lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella.

I wouldn't immediately blame a high histamine problem on the Lyme bacteria. It could be an EMF-related problem instead. Now cell phone towers and wifi antennas may not be considered 'electromagnetic weapons' or 'biological weapons' per say, but read this...

This is interesting. What if you have an adverse reaction to anti-histamines?
When I was breaking out with chronic urticaria (hives) as a teenager, I tried Zyrtec and Allegra at separate times to eliminates the hives. Both times I broke out in larger hives all over my body, but there seemed to be no other reaction with that. Also happened with Benadryl.
Since then, which was about 7 years ago, I haven't tried to use an anti-histamine and my problems with chronic hives disappeared.
I still have a fear of using them again. Scary cause if I do have an allergic reaction, I don't know what to do besides an epi-pen.

So an histamine reaction is a herx?! I also have a histamine intolerance as well. I have lowered DAO.
I don't think i have a sensitivity for EMF's. I don't use WLAN and i use my cellphone very very rarely, it's turned off 99% of the time. But most neighbors use WLAN.
I had thise histamine reactions on several antibiotics and herbs. It could be just the histamine or a die-off.
I also had neuralgies. Only the antihistamines helped.
I feel better with the antihistamines, although it makes my body more "dry"
