I used Mepron/Zith/Art over a year ago for clinically diagnosed Babs. I got chills but nothing else. After 4 - 5 months I switched to Lariam but after a couple months on that I had to stop due to side effects. The Lariam was working and I was feeling better but those improved symptoms have since returned. Has anyone kicked Babs by using anything else? I have Enula- just haven't used it yet. Thank you.

Talk to TF. She used bactrim DS for almost a year.
I;m on it in addition to mepron etc.
Working for me and also bactrim has some action against bart.

Bactrim DS (with a macrolide) did not work for me. When I started it I was using it for bart and the babs symptoms were so minor I did not notice them or even know I had babesia. 9 months later Babesia became my main concern. My other symptoms however were gone.
You could try malarone with zithro.

I could put Malarone on the list of possibilities.
I was really hoping to hear someone beat Babs with herbals.
I wish I could take Bactrim - originally I had my biggest herx with Bactrim but it seemed soon after I developed an allergy.
Thanks for your replies.

One of Bactrim side effects is Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, T.E.N. for for short. The inside of my mouth was peeling off, my oesophagus was raw and I couldn't eat anything, my tongue was scarlet red and sooo painful. One doctor told me it was acid reflux. .. I went to a dermatologist for something else and he was horrified when he saw the inside of my mouth. T.E.N is a drug-induced life threatening condition, common with Bactrim. One should be very careful when taking it.
