Is night sweats part of babs or bartonella? I have heard many things, I am positive for bart and lyme, tested negative to bab's fish testing back in 2006, may think I need a new babs test.
what do you think my night sweats are, they are getting worse and worse, currently just started levinquin for bart and it has worsened since starting this med?
thanks
Linda

Mepron/Zith put a quick end to night sweats for me. Not a quick end to everything else, mind you. But it was classic (at least as described in the literature) babs presentation. I even had little babs herxes at 4 weeks in on the mepron.

I am still dealing with plenty of something. Perhaps still babs but I have not sweat at night for a long time.

It can be both. THey say more profuse sweats (really drenching) is Babs. Barts tend to me more sticky in nature.

I get sweats about once every 5-8 days. It could be Babs or Bart for me.

babs sweats are very "drenching", you wake up with a wet tshirt or something like that, usually you are sweating every 1-2 night.

bart sweats are milder sweats, they are not drenching, for example just unter your armpits. bartsweats have a rythm of 4-6 days because bartonella is spreading itself every 5 days.. so after the "spread" you get some sweats and maybe slight fever

Thanks Daniel..mine seem more like Bart. THey are mainly upper body (Chest / head). My pillow is damp, but not soaked. I usually turn it over.

Can Lyme alone cause these kinds of sweats? I have had them on and off since I was 18. I'm almost 28 now.

I get the drenching kind. They went away for a while but have been happening again lately... I'll wake up multiple times a night and have to change my shirt and wipe the sweat off my torso and put a towel down under me, it's absolutely horrible.

I have babesia but I never had drenching sweats so I thought it was bartonella.

I have babs or the FL1952... (which is basically the same).. I go through phases of night sweats.. they start in the evenings sometimes.

Always neck/head/chest area.

Not drenching but not mild either. Various levels. Come and go months on and then months off.

So..the short answer is it can be either. So I need to treat both [Frown]
