Is that too fast? What could be the problem for doing it to fast? This is what the infusion pharmacy and my LLMD has ordered.

I am doing 300 mg of IV doxy and my infusion nurse and pharmacist both said that the infusion should be at a rate of 100 mg an hour.

hi,

my son (20) has been on 400 IV doxy since 8/10...4 hours...we first did it for 2 hrs without knowing it should have been 4 hrs...he had terrible diarrhea because of it, since I give it to him over 4 hrs and he's fine. Just yesterday doc gave him flagyl to start, 3x (250 mg) day also

IV Doxy should run an hour for every 100 mg. 400mg should run over 4 hours. My daughter had a pump that fit into a fanny pack.
