Not sure if any of you have had this experience, but I find I have less stomach upset if I take Sacchromyces Boulardi (good yeast, which is not killed by abx) at the same time as my dose of Amoxicillin. And, apparently, there is some evidence that it makes Amoxicillin better absorbed. Not sure if this might also be helpful for other abx, but thought I'd share it.

i was told not to take anything with the abx and take probiotics and all two hours separate.

But saccromyces boulardi is different from a normal "probiotic."

I take it too and it's helped with my Adrenals actually. Not sure how but I was told to take it.

I would take it away from ABX. I have heard that it could help with absorption but not sure. Hopefully someon else can chime in.

But overall it's a great Probiotic!

My first doc who is well acquainted with lyme told me to take saccharomyces boulardii with the antibiotics because the antibiotics won't destroy them. On the other hand, I was to take acidophilis and bifidus 2+ hours away from the antibiotics.

Saccharomyces Boulardii are called "yeast against yeast" by the French. It is in fact a yeast organism, yet fights the pathogenic form of yeast, Candida.

It aids stool formation and is often used for diarrhea or constipation, each alike. Ironically enough.

In case that really long link doesn't work, it's on the www.healthy.net site. Enter the search term saccharomyces boulardii (note spelling, copy/paste this) and it will come up.

I really like Dr Leo Galland, several of his articles come up. He is very, very good but far from the only good one on this website either. In fact, only renowned naturopaths are allowed to post here, period. It's a highly trustworthy source of information.
