I just read a book entitled "crazy Sexy Diet". It is written by a young woman with a rare incurable cancer. She completely changed her diet, lifestyle, and mindset after her diagnosis and her cancer has stopped progressing.

The book has some great tips for an alkaline diet, juicing, detox among many other things. I would recommend this book to anyone with a chronic illness.

Has anyone read this? It was the best selling book on amazon for a while.

What is the diet? Is it primarily vegan, vegetarian - what?

I don't want to buy it if it is a meat eaters guide.

It is a vegan based diet. I was a vegetarian for years before Lyme, so I really connected with the book.

Great book! Kris Carr is truly an inspiration!

Since trying a mostly vegan diet (I eat pastured eggs from my neighborhood farm and some animal products are in supplements like thyroid, Vitamin D 3, transfer factor and B 12), I think I may have improved my immune system.

I used to get every cold that walked by me and it took me 4 - 6 weeks to really recover.

Now I am on a roll where everyone around me gets sick and now I don't! Woohoo!

I try to eat at least 2 servings of leafy greens per day such as kale, watercress or romaine. I blend them into smoothies and soups and have them in salads. Juicing is also good.

Dr. Fuhrman has some good books out there explaining how the nutrient density of foods is crucial for healing the body.

And his books are not strictly vegan - he has a diet also that allows some meat.
