I began Florastor prior to my abx use to prevent c-diff.

I've been taking low dose antibiotics once a day for three months.

I have two days left of Cleo to take.

***Recap my dr. is the one who believes in low dose abx for long periods of time along w/ natural antibiotics/herbals.

I will be off of pharmacuetical abx for a month or two.

I would like to stop the Florastor until I resume the abx to save some money as I take two of these a day.

Does this seem like a reasonable thing to do.

I will continue the 50 billion count probiotic I currently am taking.

Seems reasonable to me. Take probiotics forever!

My now famous lyme doctor had me take Florastor for one month after I completed my antibiotics. It was part of his "restore the gut" program.

He also had me continue on the anti-yeast diet for that one month and take diflucan and nystatin.

So, you may want to continue it for 30 days. I know it is expensive. But, if taking it for an additional 30 days restores the gut to normal, that is something to be desired.

It worked for me.

It is now 6 years since I completed my lyme treatment and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life.

I never had any problem with yeast after I did the 30 day "gut restore" program. And, I had taken antibiotics for lyme and cos continuously for 3 years.

Probably a good idea.

I saw Florastor in Wal Mart.. I didn't think it was expensive there??? Can't remember what the price was but it was cheaper than Theralac, for example.

Maybe the one I saw was fewer tablets. It was not in a bottle.

Looks like a good deal, Beth!

No, it's not as expensive as Theralac, but the price of all these Lyme treatment pills and special gluten-free products are putting me in the poor house.

I work two jobs and am trying to figure how I can manage a third.

I always buy the Florastor from drugstore.com and because I take two a day a bottle lasts almost a month.

If I do not buy another bottle of this perhaps I can afford a bottle of Cumanda or some other herbal that I am looking into.

Saccharoyces Boulardii by Jarrow is less expensive and works well IMO.
