So...here's the deal. Was doing REALLY well..home stretch, really. Just trying to go after Bart to clean up the few remaining symptoms. Had to stop my Bart meds 2 weeks ago because of high liver counts (I was only on them for 2 days.) So...as of now I'm only on Doxy and some vitamins / supplements.

Then...last weekend had a stomach flu for 3 days along with the rest of my family. Yuck.

Ever since then I've had a return of some mild off balance / dizziness feelings. They come and go. But they had been GONE since about October.

So confused why they are back and worried I'm relapsing. Dizziness was the most problematic symptom I had a year ago. So concerned it's coming back and I don't know what to do to make it go away. Ears feel very full too...neck is a bit stiff.

Not sure if it is lyme, Babs, or Bart...but something is acting up and I don't know how to stop it.

Maybe since your body is "down" you will feel better in another week?? Don't panic just yet.

Did you call your LLMD?

Let's hope it resolves on its own! [Smile]

Just spoke to a woman from my church whose kids went thru years of this. She had a lot of experience with Dr. J and others and was telling me about how her oldest daughter got some kind of stomach flu that was going around and she ended up backsliding with her old Lyme symptoms for 2+ weeks, then came out of it.
Maybe it's similar to your situation.
If so, hoping you come out of it very fast.

Yeah, any type of stressor can touch things off again if not completely gone...

With luck, you'll spring back a lot sooner this time though.

THanks all....so worried about relapsing. I was doing so well (and still am for the most part.) But the dizziness was such a disabling symptom for me...it was paralyzing. I never want to feel that way ever again!

But you're on meds and you have a handle on this. I think you'll be OK!!

You'll be ok. It's a bug. Regular bug.

Are you sure these dizzy spells aren't really seizures? I was calling my complex partial seizures 'dizzy spells', at least until I landed my car in a ditch and realized they were more.

I don't think it is seizures. Also not sure it is a bug as it has now been a week since the stomach flu.

Hoping it will pass soon. Think it is a flare as other symptoms are also flaring. Sigh.

Feel the same way you do. Day 3 of restarting meds. Bad day today. [Frown] . Hoping it won't last long either.

I've been relapsinng, too, for a week. Came out of nowhere, sort of, but I've been under a lot of physical and emotional stess.
I had been functioning between 90-95%
Very scared and stressed out and have missed a week of work.

Folks above, did your issues resolve themselves and did you get back on track? How long did it take you?

I had a bad stomach bug back in February, lasted a week and I lost 10 pounds from not eating. Of course, I stopped my meds (Doxy and Rifampin at that time) till I was sure I was over the bug.

Long story short, I haven't felt well since then.

I saw my LLMD not too long after the bug, and he changed my meds to Ceftin and Malarone because I was really having some upper GI issues that he figured were at least somewhat due to the meds.

Well, my air hunger has actually started having a definite pattern since starting the new meds, and my upper GI stuff settled down. But then I started having lower abdominal cramping and occasional diarrhea.

LLMD wasn't sure what to make of the air hunger thing, but he wants to watch the gut stuff. He recommended stopping the Ceftin for a week to see if things settled down.

Well, I just restarted the meds after almost a week, and I feel horrible. Before I went back on them, I had terrible air hunger--much worse than usual--lyme rage type stress and horrible fatigue with the inability to sleep.

Now that I'm taking the meds again, I don't feel well in the stomach area--I'm hungry but the sight of food makes me sick. I haven't felt this bad in a long time, and I don't know what to do.

guys, all this stuff is coming from your stomach, that is where your immune system is, no wonder why any type of flu send s you in an "auto immune" reaction... and the stomach is what sends inflammation to the brain, thus the diziness and brain fog...

So..since someone resurrected this...here is an update.

Doing FAB this week and after my first Factive pulse 2 weeks ago.

Met with LLMD today and will be starting artemisinin and switching from Doxy / Flagyl to Mino / Tinidazole.

2nd Factive pulse next week. Onward and upward!
