Just came from non Lyme near who was told thinks out of the box. Went for salt problem. When asked where salt problem comes from, told it just happens sometimes. When asking about lesions showed him MRI, said anyone can get them. When showed him spect from Columbia, he said depression can cause hypoperfusion. Doesn't believe I have Lyme and said all is a coincidence. I'm numb from depersonalization. Wish the old me was there to do some fighting. Thank god only a 20 dollar co-pay. Back to square 1 with the salt issue. (too low). Am so tired of living a controversy. [bonk]

lyme in Putnum, I am sorry you had such a bad appointment.

Have you had your adrenal function checked? Low cortisol can cause sodium deficiency in some. This happened to me. I was actually craving salt all the time when I usually do not want salty foods. My sodium level was low, and my adrenal tests were off. I have been taking supplements for it, and I no longer have the problem.

Sorry for the run around.

Your SPECT from Columbia would have said depression if that is what the results showed -- I have seen photos and the SPECT pattern with depression and lyme or tickborne diseases looks very different even to a non M.D.

Yes, anyone can have brain lesions but symptoms plus lesions usually requires further investigation.

As to the salt issue -- have you been evaluated for POTS or orthostatic hypotension?

My kidney doc checked all adrenals and I have him stumped. He's checked all and he's really thorough.

Have you ever had saliva testing done to check your cortisol levels?
