I've had the hunger for almost 3 months. My function test showed a ventilatory defect.

Pulmonologist can't figure it out, LLMD says Babesia.

But would the air hunger actually show up on a test?
The then gave me bronchodilator which seemed to help on the next round of the test.
I was having bronchospasms. LLMD knows this and he still says Babesia.
Just wondering others experiences?

My doc if one of the best (he worked with Burrascano) so I trust his judgment..

If it's related to Lyme disease and co-infections; I would think not. Not sure - here's a pretty good definition of the test itself...

thanks- I had the spirometry test done only.

LLMD says inflammation from the illness can cause bronchospasms

I am not a smoker, don't have asthma etc..

I have a very positive Lyme test

I'm so confused

I mean, Lyme and Co. can cause physical symptoms that show up on tests in general..

hey Back,

i dont have an answer for you, all i can say is that ive been fishing through these boards for months and youre the first person i can really relate to - for i have had crippling air hunger for the past 7 months with no relief. i had many pulm function tests, some are OK some are Perfect, so i dont know what the deal is. The asthma meds for me made it much worse.

My LLMD also suspects babesia despite a neg test but for some reason he keeps giving me random abx that do not typical treat babesia. (ie im on doxy and biaxin) im struggling. please keep me posted on what works for you. i think i read another post from you about trying mepron. if that works, let me know.

I hope you get better.

Okay Tobo. Sorry you are suffering too. I've noticed that some people with air hunger say they have ok function tests..yet mine said ventilatory defect. I hope I am not chasing the wrong diagnosis.

I will keep updating

let me know what you do, as I have air hunger that has me feelin awful as well. I have had no pulm. function tests.

My recent Igenex states Im neg for Bart and Babs. But I have come out Positive for Ehrlichia, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and only a 41 band on Igenex for Lyme.

Very frustrating isn't it. Air hunger is so scarey I think I'd flat out rather have any kind of debilitating pain than feel like I cant breathe.

Can someone tell me why this happens??? I am trying herbals after 1 straight year of antibiotics. Thanks.

it's my worst symptom ever...I keep thinking that dying would be better than this. I can't stop thinking about death. I'm scared

It's mine too and I wouldn't wish it on anyone Olaf! I guess we're just lucky, and maybe it's time for me to start treating Babs...even tho I am negative. : (

Just took my first dose of Mepron last night. The taste wasn't as bad as I thought it would be by the looks of it.

Anyone know how long before I notice a change?

Also, can some not notice any change until being on it for months?

Thanks
