I wish I could help but I only know IGeneX lab Western Blot results. It appears he has Lyme. What did the doctor say? Will you be referred?

Good luck! Having a sick, young boy is not easy!

Looks like he has a positive ELISA test. They are known for false negatives.. so a positive is pretty solid.

I don't quite understand why he's only got band 41 showing if he is positive. Do you see any other numbers like that?

Is this from Quest Lab?

Thanks Lymetoo...This is lab corp labs. And 41 is the ONLY positive band showing all others say absent. Im wondering like KTKDOMMER says, do you think I should have him retested through IGenex? Ped. Dr. said he does NOT have Lyme....I'm thinking he does!!! I just don't know what to do to help him :-( I appreciate the imput....KTKDOMMER & LYMETOO!!

Your Ped didn't even run the right WB. Its supposed to be Lyme, Western Blot, Serum. Would be better if you could run the basic Igenex Lyme test.

I think it's #188 & 189, they have a website you can check. Cost is around $200.

If you can't, see if your Ped will run the correct test through labcorp again.

YES.... Get the Western Blot from Igenex.

Test 188 and 189

Absolutely get him tested through IGenex.

Your Ped is diagnosing based on a VERY flawed test, and he/she is required to be diagnosing clinically. The doctor is in the wrong here.

$200 for a proper test and peace of mind.

I know it cost a lot (IGenex) $$$ but, why only get tested for Lyme disease.

Why not get tested for the most common Co.s at the same time. If you don't get better with the Lyme treatment them youre just wasting time...right?

Steve.. but... she can test for Lyme with Igenex .. and then find an LLMD if it is positive. Of course, we all know it's better to find the LLMD first.

I think he meant that while she is getting him tested for lyme she might as well get him tested for the co's at the same time (through igenex)

Yeah.. pretty expensive though.. and how to get the pedi to sign off on it?

Thanks Jackie, - I know Lymetoo, it's very expensive. I just hate to see the kids suffer with these diseases...It makes me sick!

Yeah Lymetoo...I am just hoping now the Pedi. will sign off on the IGenex test being as she said 2 times he does not have Lyme. I don't know what I will do if she will not...any suggestions?

If your doctor wont allow the test, its probably time for a new doctor. If your gut tells you there is something there, trust it. I had pneumonia as a child, and it took my mom 3 doctors before I was diagnosed. They kept telling her I was fine, but she knew. I was really sick by the time I was finally diagnosed.

It is so importent to get Lyme as early as possible, keep looking for a doctor until you find one that takes you seriously. There is a new nonprofit that helps pay for igenex testing, and kids get to the front of the line. Pm me if you need the name of the group. I am sorry you and your little guy are going through this. I know how hard it is to see your children suffer.

What did the MD say? With those results, he should be treating already for pete's sake [Smile]
