I put in a few cups and stay in no longer than 20 min in warm/hot water.

Then shower to rinse it off.

If it's too hot then you might herx.

There are recipes on some threads here. If you do a search for epsom salt baths or detox baths you'll find the recipes.

Dry brush whole body with natural brush
4 cups epsom salt
2 bottles of 32 oz hydrogen peroxide
warm water
Soak for 20 minutes
Shower immediately afterwards

DR OZ said today that you can disinfect your tub by letting it soak with vinegar at night. I missed how MUCH he said to put in there!! [bonk]

Too late for today.. but just throwing that out for the future baths.

Not only that.... you can croak. And I am not talking frog croaking... the other croak.

Your BP can do bad things and you can get woozy if too hot.. then you could black out, fall, etc..

It may NOT be a herx what folks feel either... and my concern is that it really isn't a herx, but instead a problem and a warning from your body saying don't do that again.

Caution, caution, caution.

My recipe:
2 cups epsom salts
1 cup baking soda
10 drops lavendar oil

after your soak, wrap yourself in a towel and hop into bed. Best sleep ever (at least for me).

I also wanted to mention, after going to several pharmacies and stores and checking prices...

I went to a farm supply store and the epsom salts were, as someone suggested, much cheaper there.

I paid $1.33 per pound. It was sold in 4 lb bags. It may be cheaper in larger quantities too, but I was in a hurry and didn't ask if they could order it that way.

I also didn't ask if it was sold with lavender scent, as I could imagine the response I'd get...

"We never noticed the horses preferred lavender scented salts to soak their hoofs in over the regular salts."

tincup - make sure it's not agricultural grade. It's not the same as USP grade, and the difference is important.

I agree with Tincup.

I still can't believe I didn't die after I took an Epsom bath.

I felt horrible, my heart, my brain, my nerves and I realized I had to get out, I was passing out and fell.

Now, I can take one. But I'm not on a massive amount of drugs and very ill.

My, not a doctor, opinion is that they do not speed up the healing process.

I have done several epsom salt baths but haven't noticed any difference good or bad. They're supposed to relieve herxing right? Is it a cumulative effect or do you feel better right after?
