This is really weird. I am having some anxiety and my body just feels extremely weird. I only just started taking antibiotics today so I'm thinking it can't be from that.
I have that 'uncomfortable in my skin' feeling....the creep crawly sensation....and I am now wide awake! I kinda feel like I'm on the verge of having a panic attack...but not. I guess that doesn't really make any sense though.
I tried to close my eyes and go to sleep but I can't and I almost feel like I have electricity running through me.
Anybody relate to this? I keep telling myself I'm fine but this is just too damn weird!

Hi there,
I think it definitely could be from the antibiotics. My anxiety flares up really badly on biaxin and also on doxy, though the biaxin is worse.
I can't figure out if it's a herx or if it's just the way the antibiotics affect me. Either way, it's unpleasant.
Of course I can't tell you for sure that that's what you're experiencing, but in MY experience, yes, antibiotics can bring on panic attacks.
I hope you feel better soon, anxiety is no fun.

That was a herx for me. It felt like I was hooked up to a virbrator. It went away eventually. It resurfaces a little if I change abx.

I feel okay this morning so I'll keep an eye on things and see how today goes. I assumed it couldn't be a herx since I just started abx yesterday but I will add that I have always been overly sensitive to meds.

I use to have that electrical feeling all the time. I think it was a neuro symptom of LD. I would really notice it if I laid down to try and relax. Felt like an electrical current was running through my body. It has gotten better with treatment.
