So, after a long wait...

and then a long process with the medical assistant who was having lots of difficulty with entering in my information into the computer in a hot patient room (took an hour)

I was in a total brain fog once the doctor came to see me... 2hrs after my appointment time.

I had brought with me an organized list of typed symptoms that was very detailed thankfully.

I brought a voice recorder with me because I was by myself and was afraid I would forget things.... yup... I forgot stuff.... like to turn the recorder on! [Smile]

Dr looked at my and asked why I hadn't been treated before. I said because I only had 2 positive western blots... wasn't enough in my neurologists opinion to be considered positive.
The look he gave was interesting. lol

Anyway.... He believes I have Lyme. Wants to do 1.2 million units of Bicillin in each hip once a week.

Wants to do monthly blood draws to monitor WBC, and liver enzymes.

He would rather I get a local Dr to do the injections than him, so that I don't have to drive 3hrs each way. But, will do it if I can't find a local Dr.

Didn't discuss co-infections. Or possibility of them. I will try to bring them up next time (i'm assuming I won't be able to get a local md to administer meds, but I will double check with my primary)

His opinion is one antibiotic not two because its later in infection... which doesn't make since to me.

And I know that he will treat with intra muscular abx for a min of 2 months says up to 6 months.

My insurance covers this Dr. So I figure if nothing else it is probably a good starting point. It's much better than my primary who was ok with giving a 10 day script. lol.

He said I would feel better within this week and which could prove to primary need for this treatment... ?? Sounds great... and optimistic.

Right now I feel really weird. Vision... lots more floaters. I'm really tired from the drive... muscles fatigued... but arms and legs feel weird as well. maybe its just from the drive.

will post more later tomorrow

Sorry about your long wait, my brain would have produced babbling noises out of my mouth after that long.

My neighbor is a retired nurse. She came over and gave the shots to me. The bicillin is thick, so it takes a while to inject the shot. I didn't have any soreness, but I am well padded.

Anyway, saved me from having to go somewhere. I don't remember the part about feeling well in a week....

I am not a doctor and don't want to be one!

Actually, I even have a bruise at the injection site.

After applying a heating pad to it last night the large knot was down some this morning. I was glad to have gotten the advise from MLDA about applying warmth to sooth it, and dicipate the injection.
