Doxy is very hard on the stomach as we all are aware of....

My little guy (9 yrs old) is on doxy for prophyalatic tick bite...but complaining of stomach ache, he's NOT a big eater which doesn't help!

Remember hearing that Doryx is better on the stomache?? anyone??

MUCH better. Be sure he takes the pills in the middle of a meal.

PS .. I didn't think anyone under age 11 was supposed to take doxy?

Maybe give him something he likes to eat with the doxy. It's better with a full meal.

Doryx is supposed to be better, same med.

Tutu is correct. Tetras can permanently stain adult teeth if given to young kids.

I researched Doxy and it is safe to give to kids 8 and older.

He's pushing 10...so we should be OK [Smile]

I am aware of the side effects if given to kids younger than 8!

Doryx is a much better drug and stays at high levels longer. Doxy alone tends to spike in the blood, which is still useful, but extended release is golden and it's gentle on the stomach.
