Can you tell me your progress or time before you saw results?

I started the Buhner protocol 7 weeks ago and am finally up to 3 x 4 for the Noteweed, Cats Claw and 2 x 4 for the Ginseng (eleuthero). I got the herbs from 1st Chinese Herbs. Making capsules!!!

I also am taking andro, art, smilax and red root herbs 1 x 3. I stated a Parasite cleanse with Parastroy 2 weeks ago.

I have noticed my feet do not hurt as much (7 to a 6) and perhaps my energy has slightly improved 8 to a 7).

My first LLMD visit is not till 27 Jun but I spoke with him and he is fine with Buhner as a complementary.

Any thoughts most appreciated. Thanks, MattH

I didn`t do the entire protocol but I did use the herbs, Knotweed, Red Root, Cat`s Claw, and continue to use Eleuthro.. I found them very helpful for bart symptoms and find that they are mostly gone now.

How long before you experienced some improvement?

I just upped the Eleutho today and I feel a little more energy.

I bought the 1 lb bags so I will be on the herbs for several months. Buhner says take the herbs for up to a year after symptoms clear as a maintainance dose anyway I will have them around.

I also started doing Ashwaganda before bed. When I did get to sleep I was out cold. Deepest sleep in many months. We will see if that repeats.

All the Best, MattH

I noticed improvement fairly quickly within a month.. I only stopped resveratrol because I found out it is a phyto-estrogen..

I still take the eleuthro when needed and it works great for fatigue..

I got to 95% on this protocol.

I started feeling really well about 4-5 months in.

The Eleutherococcu from herb Pharm (1:2 ratio) was a major player in helping me with Buhners.

Ultimately though I did not find that Buhner's protocol was enough to rid myself of Borrelia or co-infections.

In fact I think much of the protocol's benefits are from an anti-inflammation standpoint and the fact that the herbs send Lyme into cyst form.

Nevertheless - Knotweed is a great brain fog herb!
And Eleutherococcus is great for adrenals.

Hi Canefan, I was surprised by your comment
'and the fact that the herbs send Lyme into cyst form.'

I followed the Buhner protocol when my long illness was finally diagnosed as Lyme and co 4 years ago and, at that stage, SB took the view that the herbs had effects on all 3 forms of borrelia.

I have often read this same idea as an advantage of herbal protocols in general: has there been new information about this? If so, I would be interested in reading more.

I ask in a genuine spirit of enquiry, not to be combative!

Best Wishes,

Carry

ukcarry,

It is my belief and experience that ANY chemical compound ingested will be decoded and potentially interpreted by the pathogens as a threat. Therefore running the risk of sending them into cyst form.

More specifically, anti-microbials, whether herbal or pharmaceutical, pose as a threat to the bacteria. Common sense tells me this will send a great deal of Lyme and many co-infections into defense mode (cyst).

And to my knowledge none of Buhner's herbs have specific action on cyst form.

I know Cowden has claims of cyst busting herbs - but even that is debatable.

You may well be right, Canefan; I suppose I was surprised by the use of the word 'fact' and wondered if you had seen new research on this topic.

I see from the above response to a recent question on Planet Thrive that SB obviously still believes that the herbs have effects on the cyst forms, though he doesn't exactly elucidate!
