I have been experiencing stabbing pains in my back and my legs. My knees are so horrible that I have trouble getting up and down steps and actually just getting out of a chair. Also, have had trouble swallowing and nauseous at times as well. I have been on weekly IV Zithromax for almost 6 weeks along with many supplements and pain meds. I thought I would start to feel better rather than worse. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for your insights and thoughts on this.

I was never bitten my a fire ant so I have no clue what that feels like. How long have you been treated for Lyme?

Borrelia likes to hang around in the joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and areas of previous injury. Stabbing pains in the back of the legs and feet are usually Bartonella. Nausea can be parasite die-off. Trouble swallowing can be an allergic reaction to meds, so check with your doctor on that one. If you end up with respiratory problems, don't fool around with that one, get attention quickly.

Don't forget that herxing often includes the symptoms of the pathogen(s) that are being killed off, so what you're feeling probably means that the enemy you're fighting is now incurring casualties.

When in treatment, it's to be expected to feel worse before feeling better and it takes a while. Just be sure you're reporting your experiences to your doctor.

Most people are accustomed to getting relief when undergoing treatment for an illness, but it just doesn't work that way with Lyme. Be strong and keep a positive attitude.

If what you're experiencing gets so severe that you can't bear it, or you feel it's getting dangerous, then report it to your doctor so that he/she can make any necessary adjustments. But don't expect a cakewalk.

sorry, fire ants are common around here in texas.

it's a very sharp stinging pain. i'm allergic to them so i get this big red circle bout like a quarter with a icky looking center.

it really hurts.

I feel better after 6 mo, but that's just from a reduction in bacterial and viral loads. I still have a long way to go. Still gotta chelate, still gotta heal the gut, get rid of parasites and candida. You can't use me as a gauge, because I don't think that my degree of illness has been as severe as most of the folks on here, and I haven't used abx.

But with the alternative treatments I've used, they've all made me feel worse before feeling better. For instance, I never felt bartonella symptoms in my feet. I just suspected bartonella from the GI symptoms I was having. Then when I rifed for bart, I ended up getting stabbing pains in my feet and calves which I'd never felt before. It's because the rife was killing the bart. After a few weeks of consistent rifing, the stabbing pains stopped.

The nice thing about the treatments I've used is that I can control them and adjust as needed. Some of the doctors I've come in contact with don't want patients deviating from their protocol.

Other acquaintances of mine who have done the abx route have all reported feeling worse until feeling better.

The time it takes varies according to a number of factors and it's impossible to give a standard interval. Some people can take a year, others 3 years, and some are unable to make any progress.

1)Are you on a combo Tx w/the Zith to get all of the Bb forms?
2)Are you taking binders or doing detox right now?

Hi Dawn, I am also taking Cat's claw 2x daily along with probiotics/magnesium/potassium and Alpha something or other along with a digestive enzyme.

Sorry for my ignorance but what are binders.
