I spoke to my LLNP yesterday. We decided that I will discontinue my abx after I finish up my supply of Flagyl/Rifampin (in the next few days).

I had planned to stay on amoxy but the only reason I would do that is because I am still hoping for pregnancy.

At this point though I want to focus on getting rid of candida and heavy metals and feel like being on abx is counterproductive especially since I feel ready to give it a go w/out them.

I know CD57 is not considered the most accurate measure but I plan to be tested at the end of abx treatment and then the following month to see if there is any difference.

My hope is that my immune system will be able to start working through a lot of this w/out the abx.

Would you retest through Igenex or somewhere else after ending treatment? I know many of you go on symptoms alone, but I truly was not that symptomatic at the beginning of treatment and am trying to figure out a way to monitor my progress w/ labs/data?

I believe the fogginess I felt (which started after I started treatment) is due to candida and not lyme/bart. That has improved tremendously as has my fatigue. Getting my amalgams out was the total turning point. My head has been so clear.

I am trying to get a consult w/ someone regarding my pregnancy related questions, but any other advice on how to best keep my immune system strong once I discontinue my meds in the next few days?

Just as an FYI on the CD57, I had a treatment break for a few months, and the CD57 went up during the month following the stopping of abx, and then went down in month 2 or 3 (I think month 2). So, just want to encourage you to consider that, maybe monitor the CD57 monthly for a little while if it is at all borderline. Mine was in the 70 range during this (I think went up from 57 to 70 and then down to 27).

Reishi and vitamin D can be good for the immune system. Of course, vitamin D is a hormone and should be used with caution--it could help the lyme instead of you. I do encourage energy testing for all supplements, but especially so for vitamin D as it has more potential to be harmful (in my opinion).

Thank you MichaelTampa. Good info to keep in mind. My CD57 started at a 48 and after a month of abx went up to a 60. The next month it was an 80 and last time tested was an 88. I am going to retest in a couple of days and hope it is up over 100.

Good to know about the fluctuations. I am hoping that w/out meds it will continue to go up. I am assuming if it does that would be a sign that my immune system is recovering/able to improve w/out the meds. If it drops down that will be informative as well (esp if I have symptoms).

I am on a Vitamin D supplement (every other day). What is Reishi?

I would love other thoughts regarding my questions above? Anyone??

Reishi is a kind of mushroom I think.

Reishi is a kind of mushroom, yes. I take capsules made from Paradise Herbs. A lot of different mushrooms are said to be good helping with immune system. I think you hear about it mostly with cancer patients. Reishi and coriolus are ones I hear about for lyme. Reishi has been much more useful for me than coriolus, also happens to be quite a bit cheaper, at least the brands I have run across.

Thanks! I got my Cd57 tested yesterday and I finished my Flagyl yesterday, have one Rifampin left to take tonight and will also discontinue my amoxy. By tomorrow I will be abx free (for now at least!!).
