Four years ago I was recommended to have an Iodine test to see if I needed supplementation. I let the test slide because at the time I was concentrating on other more important issues.

I just ordered Lugol's Iodine and I have had amazing results! Lots more energy and maybe clearer thinking- this is all still new to me.

So many people have switched to a healthier sea salt option and they forget many sea salts are not iodized.

Just wanted to share in case some of you have not been tested for Iodine and it might help you too.

I think you have to consult with a doctor if you are taking thyroid supplementation.

How much iodine are you taking?

Yes. I agree... I was taking bio-identical thyroid supplementation. It was expensive & I didn't see much of a result. I felt a difference with the iodine/iodide - less cold hands & feet. It's really inexpensive, too.

I don't know if a person has serious thyroid issue if it will help but it's definitely something worthwhile to look into. Some portions of the world also are depleted of iodine. It helps with other things, too - like breast cancer... I think alot of people don't get enough iodine.

Gary-

I am taking Lugol's 2% for now about every 3-4 days. I have to take it slow because in the beginning I had very bad nightmares. I looked up side effects of iodine and found that my body is most likely detoxing metals like bromide. I have read detoxing too quickly is bad for the kidneys.

Sparkle - great info on iodine.

Assuming that the cellular machinery is intact, all one should need for proper thyroid function are the basic ingredients: tyrosine, iodine, selenium.

Bromide isn't a metal, it's a halogen.

FYI - Fluoride depletes iodine in the body, causing hypothyroidism and immune deficiency

Ivy - be sure to drink alot of water... but then you get the fluoride!!! ahhh - does it ever end?

PS - also - iodine/iodide probably will help with the radiation issue we will all be facing in the future. Fukishima is still leaking! It hasn't gone away.
